Food for thought! Thinking about the upcoming availability of the new KP Z790! Today stopped by at Microcenter in Tustin, CA! Absolutely no NIVIDIA 4090 GPU’s in stock and which is very unusual for Microcenter. Many deep-pocketed and dedicated enthusiasts actually drive a few hundred miles to stop by the store during the early morning hours as RTX 4090’s are usually available now for ‘in-store-pickup’ only. I talked with a roaming salesperson with a plastic nameplate Marty wearing a broad welcoming smile: “Why is Microcenter out of RTX 4090's GPU’s as apparently many consumers are waiting to buying this type of ‘Halo’ cards and especially at MSRP!” Marty's response in turn was quick and surprising: “NIVIDIA decided for the time being in keeping their GPU shipments to us on the low-side and in order to artificially maintaining the current prices and by giving our customers and or consumers the impression that the RTX’s are selling-out like hotcakes.” I appreciated Marty's honesty as it made perfect sense given our current times of financial turmoil and domestic uncertainties. I also took-away that in the first quarter of 2023 Microcenter expects to be receiving full NVIDIA GPU shipments again. Meaning that online ordering and nationwide shipment services will be returning to Microcenter like they were a few months ago. But being an avid EVGA fan and longtime supporter, my mind driving home was naturally on the soon to arrive Z790 Kingpin. Hoping that EVGA will not be playing the marketing and waiting games like NVIDIA! Well…that was the news from the boots on the ground in Tustin and it’s now high-time again to ‘gas-up’ and chucking-down a few cans of Mountain Dew for the long way home to Mom's basement!

The evga clx 360 got on amazon pretty quick after it lauched on evga.com took about 3 weeks to shipping and importing etc to the netherlands

You know what I just realized. That I paid $574 ($618.50 after tax) for the 13900KF and this will be the first time I have ever had to pay more for the MB then CPU. Thinking back even further, 10 yrs ago during the GTX600 series I had paid less for the 680 then what I'm about to fork out for a MB today.

We can’t be sure of how stock will look this time around. It’s very possible that they can make 10-20x the previous generation stock now since they no longer need to make gpus! I’m just thinking out loud but if they use that labor to make boards it’s not that unreasonable.
If previous generations are the marker, it will be a while before they show up on their eBay store for international buyers. Isn’t that where you had to get them before? Surprised to hear Amazon has them now. I wonder if that will impact things this time around or if it’s just the case where Amazon gladly buys up overstock when companies are willing to mark it down from original retail pricing

The last word I saw from Jacob on Twitter (on Nov 11th) was "Was trying to get it ready in Nov however due to unforeseen circumstances may slip a bit..." and then in response to someone asking today he just said "Working on it..."
Hoping we'll get some news soon, it's getting harder and harder to hold out for the EVGA with so much else out there on the market already.

My z690 KP just got here today actually I am hyped! Depending on how much the z790 costs and what its looking like in terms of possible extra DDR5 performance, I might be interested to use the step up program and try to secure one. This is the first time I have ever had something really premium, and I am really excited to overclock with this board. I won't have time to use it until maybe on Tuesday or so though...
