The XC Series is the first ATX 3.0 compliant and PCIe Gen 5.0-ready power supply series with a native 12VHPWR cable and connector from EVGA. In addition, the XC Series power supplies support up to 200% total power excursion and up to 300% GPU power excursion. Rest assured that your current, or future system will be able to handle a momentary spike in power usage.

In my experience most products are dead out of the box or when the system starts really pushing itself during the warm summer months. Three years might seem like a short window compared to some but really I am more likely to buy a replacement then send a product in for a warrant replacement for the same thing after that much time.

I also if it came with a 10 year warranty I think some might question the company future after getting out of GPU and releasing their first PSU since. I think a lot of people would see EVGA lasting 3 years but when you slap a 10 year warranty people question it.

Guess I should add that I just read that InstaPot filed for bankruptcy. I would have assumed that since everybody has a InstaPot or Pyrex bakeware that the brand would be good and you could trust the warranty if it said a decade.

I get what you're saying and agree with it, but I think it's a pretty ominous statement at this point (not really unexpected though). Have they ever had a power supply with that short of a warranty? I would bet it's more about the concern of the company not supporting it after 3 years than the supply not being good enough to warranty past 3 years. They've rarely put their name on a power supply that was just poor quality. A couple non-winners, sure, but none that were just out and out terrible that I recall.

I had some of the same thoughts about the warranty when looking at the PSU specs.  I wondered, is EVGA not as confident in the longevity of this new lineup as they were in past lineups?  Or is this more a time frame warranty based on slowly closing the doors?  I'd like to think not on the latter.

I also thought maybe if/when they release higher rated units like Platinum, Titanium etc., they will come with perhaps 5YR, 7YR warranties.  Guess we'll see.  I do like the specs and design of these new units though.  I'd have felt a bit more comfortable with 5YR coverage.

True it does seem like a pretty safe bet to say that if it can last 3 years it will last far longer than that for a PSU.

According to the newegg photos the ATX cable is sleeved, the 600W GPU cable is sleeved, and the rest are flat type cables .

3 year Warranty on a PSU? Times at EVGA are really tough it seems. Hard pass at any PSU with less than 10 years warranty.

I had the same question and called EVGA support who pulled the specification sheet and confirmed that the CX is using the same pin-out and the cables will be compatible!

Also, I have to say that EVGA support is the absolute best (the agent wanted to make sure they weren't giving out misinformation so reached out to the engineering team and then called me back to confirm that I could re-use my custom P2 cables with the new power supply). 10/10 - I'm glad that I can still support the company even if they've, sadly, gotten out of the GPU game.

I am concerned for the 3 Year warranty. I do not believe the BS that people are concerned that EVGA might be around in 3 years and this is why the warranty is not 10 years.

I want my 10 year warranty and peace of mind that the manufacturer believes it will hold true for 10 years+. After all EVGA has always been about peace of mind, quality and
look no further it is an EVGA product. However if they can't warranty it for 10 years that concerns me a lot!

    1)  I simply want to know when we can expect the Platinum version of the 1000w PSU?

    2)  Also what's this "available on Newegg", but not on here at EVGA, I love buying from EVGA directly.

They said it officially that selling through partners and not directly going forward will be their cut back strategy.
There is a FTW PSU series supposed to come out months back, but we don't know if it's still coming, considering they released the XC series instead. However if it's expected to come, considering XC was always a tier below FTW, we can safely assume it should come after the XC and that it will be a step up in quality (so likely platinum and perhaps more changes).
