Сan someone tell me if this motherboard supports intel optane persistent memory? I see that it has only 6 slots, I have two 256gb optane modules, if I install them, I still have 4 slots for RAM left. Thanks!!!

Also have the same question in 2023, did you find the answer?

Might any have any experience with Cascade Lake-SP chips on this board? Looking to replace W3175X with W3275 for more lanes.

Anyone with Cascade Lake-SP chips, is ram XMP a thing or is it just Jedec and manual tweaks only?

Not tried those CPUs, but my 81xx CPUs only ran with default ram speed.

I successfully tuned timing for xeons and had rather good boost via timing tuning. But there is no ability to change Ram frequency.
DDR4 on CL8 (B-die) is Magic ))

I had ASUS rog dominus extream but it is broken and I want to purchase EVGA sr-3 dark. Can anyone tell me if EK Velocity WS is compatible with EVGA sr-3 dark?

Visually EK Velocity WS should be Ok.

looking on EK site I only found a: EK-Quantum Velocity WS RGB - Narrow ILM  Product EAN: 3831109814550
 
 
SR-3 is Not specifically listed on compatibility page ---> but look at the photos of other MBs might give you a good idea
 
Contacting EK customer service is another option

Both use narrow socket so cooler will fit both but memory heatspreaders may be too big and you may need to remove them depending on which cooler you use. (if I use noctua one, I cannot use the inside slots as example)

ek velocity ws를 장착한 결과 ()램은 모든 슬롯에 장착이 가능했지만 방열판이 있는 램은 안쪽 슬롯에 장착이 불가능했습니다. 그래서 녹투아의 LGA3647에 쿨러를 장착할 예정인데 메인보드 수로를 연결하지 않고 사용할 수 있나요?

Yes, you can use a Noctua fan without connecting aqua VRM to AIO etc. Just add any fan that blows on the VRM heatsink.

kim, jonghyun  even LN2 overclocking was done without using VRM water. Direct case fans will be enough.

I am thinking of getting my hands on one of these still but confused on actual CPU support.
It mentions "Skylake-SP" Xeon CPUs, does that mean my Xeon Gold 6148 would work?  its a Skylake-SP Xeon and works as a single CPU in my Lenovo P920...

nategee11 the only issue with your CPU, that you couldn't use DDR4 with highs frequencies like 3866 or 4000 Mhz, only stock DDR4-2666 Mhz. But you can set lower timings like 8-8-8 or 9-9-9 and so on.
