Wolf_mafiA Damn the pages are filling up pretty fast. Also the fact how the GPU is simply overpriced at FE itself and now EVGA AIB Is even more expensive for a very less perf boost vs a 3080 card. Then we have that LHR gimping too. Sadly I think its impossible to buy these GPUs.
Normally the 3080 wouldn't be a great deal but desperate times

Cheaper than paying for the scalpers

TheDoctorCMG Also, for anyone wonderinf, the EVGA ftw3 3080 ti will retail for $1399. That's a confirmation from JayzTwoCents who works directly with EVGA. It's not going to be $1700. That website was just a price gouging reseller. .
Yep. According to Jay, $1339 "introductory price", including a free mouse. After that, $1399. I'll pass. Good luck to all who decide to forge ahead.
I just want the free mouse

If you do game dev you'll need the extra vram. literally 2x the vram. But good luck getting anything at this point.

darlazy Unfortunately, I just got home from work and have an early day tomorrow morning so going through 47 pages of info is a bit much. A simple TLDR or faq would solve the problem. Not everyone frequents this forum or use twitter to stay up to date with everything. Can't expect everyone to be as well informed and understand the system if they've never done it before. Every website does things differently and processes can change every launch, it's a bit much to keep up with.
The front page is all you need man. It has all the info you need aside from pricing.
Again, never done this before and I have read the first page. My original question: "I am assuming the " auto-notify queue" refers to the auto notify under the product page? I understand what time it is suppose to be available for elite members, but not sure where I need to be looking. Trying to give myself the best chance at getting one." Imagine assuming it is that orange button on the product page, only to find out tomorrow morning that the que was actually a separate page only accessible via link sent in an email or tweeted. (email ends up in the junk box or twitter account I do not follow) Just trying to get a clear and concise answer.

How many people pronounce it 3080 "T" "I" vs 3080 "Thai"? Keynote used the later last night, have never heard any YouTubers use that nomenclature.

It's short for titanium, which across dialects is pronounced many ways (TITanium, TAItanium). But anyone actually familiar with the gaming industry knows T.I. is the normal way we peasants pronounce it. Really, it doesn't matter. The "tie" or "thai" pronunciation is correct too.

People on Discord are saying that the signup que will fail if you have more than one tab open. Is this true or BS? I figured I would have multi tabs open looking for which pages has the que on in it.

~70% extra cost for about 10% better performance is rough, and that's just on MSRP. Compared to previous generations we appear to be getting less of a performance increase for more and more of our dollars. Sorry to make my first post so salty, but maybe this feeling is familiar

Yes, it is true: if more than one tab is open to the evga site, you won't be able to register to the auto-notify queue. This can be tested right now against existing queues

Yup that's supply and demand for you. All GPU prices have been jacked up by retailers already from their MSRP to reflect the demand and shortage.

it's always been known that internally its "tie" and marketing teams have gone back and forth but for most they just know it as t.i. And even if not technically correct I too say it in most situations. Hopefully all the fuss will get someone to get a straight clear (and 2021) answer as like I've said we've been arguing this for like 15 years.

Hellloooo beauty!! Unfortunantly In my country they basically sell it at a scalped price (feels like anyways) would it be normal for 3080s to be sold "official distributors" at USD 2,900?

Troyhe98 That is the understatement of the year. I was ready to get a 3080 Ti (or at least attempt to) so I could replace my 3080, but after the reviews...doesn't seem worth it at all.
Just out of curiosity, what did you think the performance difference will be? Did you expect a 50% improvement from a 3080 to a 3080 Ti?

People seems "surprised" and or "disappointed" by the performance difference between the 3080 and the 3080 Ti. Where we already knew the performance difference between 3080 and 3090 is like 13%. Only by watching specs you could see that the 3080 Ti and the 3090 was gonna be like 5%, hence a rational person would have expect like an 8% difference between the 3080 and the 3080 Ti. At the end of the day it was 3080 has 10% less performance than the 3080 Ti and the 3080 Ti has 3% less performance than the 3090.

The 3080 ti is priced too high for suck little performance. Plus the Samsung chips aren't really that good. Not willing to invest so much for an underwhelming card and looking at the 3070 ti. That should hold me off for a while.
