So do you guys think a temporary upgrade from a 1080 ti to a 3070 ti would be worthwhile, I am planning on swapping the 3070 ti with the 4080 once it comes out (and is hopefully good) after they release in q3/q4 next year, or at least I hope that's the rough release date for them.
If you’re doing 1080p gaming, or 1440p on a 60Hz display, I would just keep using the 1080 Ti until the next gen is out.
I see no reason to drop cash on a new card now only to go and do it again end of next year, when your current card is still putting out decent performance with 1080p or 1440p/60.
WAIT
If he gets the $600 3070 Ti
He can sell the 1080 TI and make it all back.
That's the plan, I can sell my 1080 ti for more than the 3070 ti is worth anyway, so it's not like I'm missing out on money. Also the 3070 ti will have much better resell value next year compared to the 1080 ti. I am planning to do it 100% anyway. I just wanted to know if you guys think it will be a solid step up. The 3070 is already a pretty solid increase. Hopefully the 3070ti is at least 10% faster than the 3070 on average.
