This is almost guaranteed to happen given the price gap between the 3080 and 3090

Curious when a 3080ti will be released and if I should wait for that?

Awesome. I'm in for the 3090 Hybrid.. although I'm reading it's now a 240mm rad. While this is good for performance, I'm going to have to figure how that's going to fit in my case lol.. I already have a 280mm rad at top for the CPU, I could maybe squeeze the GPU rad on the front if the card length is 'standard'. Even though there's room, I don't really want it below the GPU because air bubbles would eventually rise up into the plate.. hmm. First world problems.

Oh I know.. do the vertical mount thing with an extender, that will give room for the rad at the front of the case, yay!  ..as long as it's only 2 slot... and it is. Ok I'm in, 3090 Hybrid.

Very excited for the new 30xx series of GPUs. If no luck with stock in EU I will defo go with FE especially if they are such an improvement in terms of cooling as claimed during the presentation. They too look better than all other AIB offerings maybe apart the Hybrid EVGA models.

We should be having a talk about the horrible red accents on the FTW3 render. Why hype ARGB features when the shroud has a non-neutral color palette? I'm hoping these are not final.

That said, I'm still on board with a 3080 of whatever variant I can get my hands on. My 1080 Ti SC Black is ready for retirement to a secondary system.

I hope we get pricing before the 24th so I can let my credit card company know what to expect so I don’t miss out to the bots scalping all the cards.

Thnx for the heads up wich variants are comming. I am really looking for this gen lauch. Seems evga did a great job like always again

I will be replacing my 1080ti ftw with a ekwb block for i think a 3080 ftw and later put a ekwb block on it again sins there is no 80ti variant this time. 3090 seems double in price for i suspect like 20-30% performence if its going to be more like 40-50% then I might change my mind though ;).

I think the size of the NVIDIA Founders Edition 3090 has spooked a lot of people.  Our 3090 FTW3 cards, for example, are slightly shorter on height and length than our 2080 Ti FTW3 cards.  Still 2.75 slots, but with a dual-slot I/O bracket, rather than a 3-slot bracket.

Are there any EVGA RTX 3090 models from EVGA that are comparable to the length of the 2080 Ti XC Ultra which is around 270mm? The XC Ultra barely fits into my setup at the moment..

here is hoping the 3090 FTW3 HYDRO COPPER is available on day 1.  Time to repurpose the 2080 HC to another rig and place the the 3090 in its place. 👀

I had to buy a 2060 since my 1070 died. I have some time left on the step up so I'm hoping I can get in the queue before that expires. I was originally hoping to upgrade to this gen before my card died.

Sick designs, dude. I like that EVGA has put two HDMI 2.1 sockets on their cards and two Displayports 1.4a's. The founders edition has only one HDMI 2.1 socket and three Displayports 1.4a's instead. This means i can use one HDMI 2.1 for the monitor and rig the other one up to my eARC AV Receiver for lossless audio/surround sound. Nice job

:EDIT: Looks like its just 1x HDMI 2.1 and 3x Displayport 1.4a booo

Nvidia will release 3080 Super and 3070 Super cards if they feel threatened by AMD's Big Navi cards. The 3080 Super will most likely have 20GB and the 3070 Super will most likely have 16GB VRAM

Re: Introducing the EVGA GeForce RTX 30 Series with iCX3 Technology! 2020/09/01 12:58:03 (permalink)
I recently built my first PC. I purchased an EVGA 2080S FTW3 about 25 days ago, and the machine has only been built for less than two weeks. While I am happy with my build and researched all of the components I wanted, I only learned of the pending release a couple of days after I ordered. I reached out to EVGA about potentially canceling, but they made me feel comfortable about the step up program so I moved forward with it. After today's news, I am really starting to wonder if it was a mistake. I don't care how long it takes to actually get the card. However, I would like to go ahead and go on a list, pay the difference, and just wait for notice to ship it back in once its stocked. I am banking that in the coming days EVGA will provide additional details and I can do just that.

For those asking for availability date, NVidia posted that already, and I would assume other manufacturers will have close to the same release dates. 3080 Sept 17th, 3090 September 24th, 3070 October. NVidia sets the dates, so I would suspect that is the dates you can expect.

I am so sad about this card, i don't understand why they can't put 5/6 Display ports on it. I had the 980 TI FTW then the 1080 TI FTW3, and i wanted to get the 3090 FTW3 to go with the new VR headset but with a triple monitor setup and an external tv on HDMI, i got no more slots to plug in a VR headset, this is a major letdown :(. And i don't think it makes sense to go dual cards just for an extra video port.
Unless someone has a good workaround.

Yeah i know. I already saw new NVLink on nvidia website. My question is can i still use 80mm NVlink to run 3090 ftw3 cards. I dont see how can i use 60mm nvlink on this motherboard.

Honestly no one cares what NVidia is saying, we are asking EVGA for their information which they are not providing for some idiotic reason....
