Is it a good idea to use Eco Mode while playing games?

It's probably fine. ECO mode seems bring the fan curve down a bit and prevent max RPM, but since this PSU has some large, finned heatsinks and also OTP, it should not only hold well a bit of high temp but also protect itself in case the fan doesn't kick in on time. Yet, as the fan max is handicapped on ECO, I would maybe stay away from that if you're running at or close to 75% power constantly (either measure at the wall or do the math with your CPU + GPU power measurements in HWiNFO and add maybe 10%), as it seems to be where the fan tops out for ECO mode while it goes to 100% in standard mode (from the charts in the G6 page).

Rev00Seasonic PSUs that were made before 2018 had issues with current gen GPUs. They couldn’t handle the spikes on NVIDIA cards even though people used the recommended wattage per NVIDIA’s instructions. Since they refreshed their PSUs, it’s fixed now, but who knows what issues might be there with next gen cards.

Thanks, good to know! But also confusing, since the Corsair AX1000 was rated the best 1k PSU at tom's, but was manufactured by Seasonic?

I have just installed a new supernova 1000G6
Came from 750G2
I have used all the old cables (in order not to dismount everything)
Everything good so far, no coil  whine right now even at 500W from my 3080 TI.
I have to test the system a little bit more.

I bought one too to replace my current PSU that was getting the OCP tripped during a game and OCCT power test. There were several other options to go with but since it was on sale I could not beat the price.

Asus ROG Strix Z370-E | Core i9 9900k-NZXT Kraken X73 AIO | 32GB G Skill Ripjaws 3200 | 1TB Seagate 7200 rpm | OCZ Trion 150 960GB | 256GB Samsung 830 | 1TB Samsung 850 EVO | EVGA 3080Ti FTW3 Ultra | Phanteks P600S | 1000W EVGA G6 | Dell Alienware AW3418DW 3440x1440 120Hz
