I have been trying to beat more games I own. I have so many that a World of Warcraft addiction had me buying games but then never playing them on Steam. I have though finally got to the point in which I will play a game at least for a couple hours to see if it can hook me to finishing it. The real problem is games like Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 come out and I get wrapped up in them trying to do everything in the main game and expansions which can take a long time.

I think it's not pointless if you like them.
But it's bad to invest and not play them. It's nice to have account with so many games.
I would be proud. I think you could get a lot of money for your account.
But not even a close how much really worth. You could bought few hard core RIGs with favorite games you like most.

Ha-ha wow! Yeah I only get what I know I want/will to play and only get a more till I 80-100% finish the others.

I have 25 Steam games. But for some reason Wolfenstein 3D is one of them I got from uPlay.. never added any non-Steam games to library? So that's odd?

 Ubisoft's uPlay: 5 games but 3 of them are non-DRM inducing Wolf3D
      EA's Origin: 2 games
Microsoft Store: 4 games
        Non-DRM: 14 games
I even have 3d Pinball Space Cadet... because I miss Win XP.
I have been moving it from HD to HD every time I get a new PC.

Edit: I should add I come from a console rich background everything from 2600 to PS3.

The biggest issue I have is when a classic is on sale or a remake. Blizzard redid StarCraft and of course I had to get it even though it's a 20 year old game with new graphics. I mean I did load it up and played it a while and found it well worth the $15 but I am not sure I will ever really beat the game again but I know if they redid Diablo with 4K graphics and charged $15 for it I would be buying it.

I've got more games than I need. That's for sure but no where as many as some. It's a problem if you feel it is. But if you play most of them or intend to then what the hey.

Maybe some of you that have 1k+ of games (you know who you are..) should try the steam family share . Allow someone you trust to play some of the back catalogue you accrued . I want to do it for my great-nephews , but they either have crappy internet or in military school . Even my sister now lives in a town that doesn't even have a local provider for residential internet , business only . I thought dry counties still existing here in Texas was bad...

Unless it has changed over the past year that I don't know about -- there is a huge problem with the family share thing on Steam!

IF they are playing a game in your library & you go log into your machine in whatever city/state you are in because you actually want to play also ... STEAM gives the other user a short countdown warning to being cut off .
Only 1 can be playing under the library at 1 time , so you would need to have alternating schedules to be of much help under the 'SHARE' program.

Also many developers restrict their games from it and completely disable DLC access for the games.

They should instead offer a deal like a time limit to play the game and if they like it and if they like it give them a discount. Right now though the Share feature isn't that great.

I'm overwhelmed because of the amount of games that I have.

Don't ever engage in bundles then. Blink and you'll have +2k games.

Better owning all of those games than dropping the money on "f2p" and probably cheaper in the long run.

I have way more games than I actually play, too.  I especially like bundles of games that go on sale during Steam's annual sales.  I end up with 20 new games, play 1 or 2 for a few days, then get side tracked and forget they're there until I think about the new game I want... thats in a bundle... and on sale....

I've a ton of games on the cheap from Humble Bundle and Fanatical. Vast majority of then remain unplayed, absolutely ridiculous...!
