Agent8 - the funniest avatar - i laugh at the cat everytime i see you post- can't help it
the 7 string looks like you have worked on it quite a bit - like the pick ups are missing the seat that goes around them, got a floyd rose 7 string - not sure how easy they are to get - and then you have a guitar shop some  ( some homage to SRV). 12 string fender. bunch of stuff. Do you play for a living or just collect guitars?

I had a few bands back in the day but now I mostly just play for fun. Of course when I get the time. Lately I have been banging around on the drums when I get a few minutes but someday when my work slows down I'd like to record some more. Yeah that 7 string pickups came like that. It sucks, there's things that I can't stop collecting like headphones, guitars and computer cases and I don't know why. Lol

The electric's just an Epiphone SG special that I swapped an old cheap acoustic for just to have one electric. The others are a Pono D-30 and a Blueridge BR-40. I'll be getting another Pono all mahogany 12 fret sometime in the next month.

thank you! That grained look is something I discovered when I built my subwoofers. I stained it two different colors of Grey going with the natural wood grain and I let a little bit of the natural mahogany show through. Then I took a Q-tip and pinstriped black stain going with the grain again and rubbed it all out in the same direction and hit it with 440 sandpaper a few times and then put about two dozen very light coats of Poly on top. For some reason it looks a little purplish in the pictures but it's kind of a wood grey and black color

Clarinet was my very first instrument I learned how to play way back in the 6th grade. Then I did a little with piano and I wish I would have kept with it. Once I hit my teenage years it was all about the guitar. Once I formed some bands, their equipment would be left over at my house so I picked up the bass and then the drums. I enjoyed writing my own songs but the bass and drums were never what I wanted so I started recording myself and then I moved on to record other bands. I can fake my way through a lot of instruments but I'm not really super great at one in particular. People say I'm pretty good on the drums but then I go on YouTube and see nine-year-olds blowing me away. LoL

Nice collection Agent8. Glad to see so many people into music.
I love the natural wood guitars. My Ibanez has just has red staining on it where the wood grain shows through.
Can't say I'm a musician by any means, a few chords, few power chords, bar chords, few notes thrown in, some feedback = a lot of noise!
I played with others when I was a teenager, gave it up for a long time.
Now I play for myself and I do not let anyone listen in. I'll play when I am home alone to the music that's on.
Or just play some blues rifts or some Sabbath rifts. Short fat fingers do not make it easy for to play chords, so I had to adapt.
Hope to make a lap steel out of a cheap pawnshop find. Make a new higher nut out of buffalo horn and raise the action.
Can't read sheet music so I use Tabs to help me learn a song.
Also use guitar pro 5 and I have a ton of tabs someone gave me.

If i had and criticism it would be neck dive - the neck will tilt toward the ground if you are not paying attention.

Neck dive? I have a Dean double neck 6/12 that brings new meaning to the phrase "Crash dive". But then that gives me more reason to hold her tight.

I have never held a double neck guitar but that is a lot of weight.

Considering the new regulations regarding certain types of wood that can no longer be used in the MFG of guitars the weight has been reduced. I have a Washburn Pro solid body that is as heavy.

They are nice.

I just think it's great that you take the time to play and learn. Music is it's own reward.
I just play for myself and family at home also, I enjoy it and hey that's why I have the guitars ;)
read sheet music...not so much either but tabs work fine, use whatever works for you.

Just got this today :) It's a 12 fret slope shoulder all mahogany dread from Pono Guitars; a DS-20SP. The pictures don't do it justice mostly because I'm a crappy photographer lol.  Anyway, I've been playing it all afternoon and am loving it.

I just picked up a Fender CD 60 a few weeks ago as I had always wanted to learn to play.  Then I busted up my left hand and had a few fingers get stitches so that kinda killed my learn to play right away plans.

Ouch. I had hand surgery about 6 months ago for a broken hand and to re-attache the ligament in my little finger...not fun. I hope you heal up well and can get on with playing soon.

This is one of my basses. It’s a Fodera Emperor 5 Standard, a very nice instrument that has served me well for the past 3 ½ years.

BTW – I do not normally use the Korg tuner you see on the floor in front of the bass. I like and use Sonic Research Turbo Tuners, an ST-200 as a stand-alone and an ST-300 on my pedal board.

Nice bass, although it hasn't been getting much playing time of late as I've been playing the Fodera quite a bit.

I really like the look of this bass! Nice.
I want a Fender Jazz Bass to add to my collection. The link "sweetwater" where Bill got his new rig has the 60's and 70's version of Fender Jazz basses also.
The Sadowsky RV4 in the picture above looks similar to a Fender Standard Jazz Bass.

I have problems with the cervical and thoracic vertebra and it causes my hands to tingle and go to sleep - My neurosurgeon has me wear these large braces on each arm and he diagnosed it as stenosis and carpal tunnel - pain in the butt but I can still play my bass.

Robby, believe it or not, I traded my Fender 62 reissue jazz bass (looked almost exactly like my Sadowsky RV4 pictured above) as well as a 5-string MusicMan Bongo Bass which looked like this:

...plus some cash for the Fodera.
Was it worth it? IMHO, no question. Fodera makes very fine instruments. Not saying the other 2 basses weren't good, just not as good as the Fodera.

I'm so sorry to hear that, Robby, but it's a blessing that you can still play and enjoy making music.

That speaks volumes for the fodera. The 2 basses you traded are by no means slackers - I really like the bongo Bass and the fender jazz has a reputation that speaks for itself.

Have you ever played a Warwick? My friend has one and it is very impressive both in the quality design, parts and the look and sound. They are not giving those away either.

So the neck thing is not new, but like anything it is not getting better. I have a much worse problem with my lower back and have had surgical procedures done as recent as 4 weeks ago. You would not know it if you saw me -plenty strong, but the non-stop pain takes its toll. I have always been very athletic and now I am reduced to stretching and no lifting. BTW I was never in any accident - get asked that alot.

If you could have any bass at no cost what would it be?
