I have a motherboard Z77 Stinger. In the latest version of BIOS flashing E692_124.zip in the folder FPTDOS have files ; CHOICE.com, fparts, txt, fpt.exe, fptcfg.ini. At the root of the zip archive there is another UPDATE.bat and 1E692124.BIN. These files are different from the instructions ( In my firmware no files "AFUDOS.BAT" or "FPTDOS.BAT". What can I do to update the BIOS from USB Flash?

I can't ask BIOS settings to default. when reset, the motherboard will not be able to see my RAM. Error 55. Resetting the BIOS before critical firmware?

The issue resolved the launch of the file update.bat.Reset the bios before firmware not produced.

If you are on Windows 10 and you keep getting USB write protected then just use Rufus and set it up with FreeDos there is a guide on HowtoGeek  I think HP USB disk format tool is now deprecated.

I tried typing the bat file like you said without quotes, with "."Bat and with a "space" bat and even without bat at all, it says this program cannot be run in DOS mode. i think i did it step by step. Any ideas?  mine is for a evga z68 mobo and the newest BIOS reads "FPTWIN64 BAT" in the files after i type in dir?? I'm stuck   Plz help I thank u in advance

You could but you can update your Bios from within the Bios.
Put your New Bios File on a USB Thumb Drive Restart your computer enter the Bios and then update your bios.
