    No.

As of lately EVGA has been giving Elite Members the first 24 hours to sign up for the queue, after that everyone gets to sign up for the queue.

Elite Members also get exclusive hardware access and EVGA does a daily giveaway of a product everyday to Elite Members.

    No.

What they recently did was to open the first 24 hours of purchasing for NEW product launches to elite members only. This also includes exclusive access to sign up for notifications for the first 24hrs.

It has been a bit confusing for some people who thought it was 24hrs early access. But it isn't, it is the first 24hrs AFTER a product launches.

In practice, when the RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti launched the only thing people could do was sign up for the notification and enter the queue. Many people did get notified the same day, launch day, and were able to order and get their GPU shipped right away.

There is nothing connected to the elite membership that informs you in advance of product drops. And as far as direct sales from EVGA it wouldn't make any sense to do that anyway since all 30-series cards are part of the notification queue.

EVGA started using their "notify me" button as a way to enter customers into a purchasing queue. You notification request is time stamped down to the second. When product is available EVGA sends an email out to the next person in the queue offering them the opportunity to purchase the GPU. That person has 8 hours to respond. If they purchase they are removed from the queue and are not eligible to purchase that SKU via the queue system again. They can purchase other cards from the 30-series lineup as long as those cards are listed using a different product number.

There are other benefits to being an elite member that are explained by EVGA if you do a little poking around this website.

Re: How good is elite status? 2021/07/25 17:14:10 (permalink)
No, it does not.  What is does do is when a new product, i.e. GPU, MB, etc., is released, then elite members get the first 24 hours after the release date to "auto notify" (get in the queue).  After the first 24 hours it is open to everyone whether elite or not.  There are also certain products that are only available to elite members, 2080SC, Kingpin 3090 Hybrid, and Kingpin 3090 Hydro Copper (these are also 'auto notify products, i.e., queue system).

You can find more information here:  https://www.evga.com/member/elite/.

The web page will give you all the information.

But even if you are in the queue in the first day, it still maybe months and months before a card is available.
    If ever at all.

If mining didn't exist there would still be a massive shortage of GPUs.

No one is mining on automobile ECUs and yet they've had to stop making cars in some cases because they can't get enough.

PC gaming has increased in popularity over the last several years as that's where most of the streaming and pro-level competitive gaming is at (and even if you stream console gaming you need a PC). Add to that the pandemic which reduced supply while massively driving demand for home PCs for work at home and at home schooling and you don't need mining at all to have a massive GPU shortage.

Evga tried to combat the bots but failed, elite que was impossible to get in, servers couldn't handle the onslaught. Most of the cards ended up on ebay, fb marketplace and other sites anyway. The discount codes are close to expiring so yeah, elite membership is a sham. Why were the que threads locked?

The queue threads were locked because Kram the OP asked for them to be locked.
People in his threads were thanking someone else and were using their discount code instead of Krams.
    No shenanigans on EVGAs part.

Really if you are in the queue on the first day you normally are pretty good. If you are not elite and have to wait 24 hours it's going to be a long long time before you are able to order a GPU. Also if you fallow EVGA on twitter and Jacob you should know when the new cards will drop. Of course things might crash for a bit but if you don't give up then you should be good to get the card pretty soon. Also by being elite they have the special drawings. The other thing is it's not really that hard to earn the rank as this community is pretty awesome I feel.

Use an Associates Code & SAVE 5% - 10% on your purchase. Just click on the associates banner to save, or enter the associates code at checkout on your next purchase. If you choose to use my code I want to personally say "Thank You" for using it.

From what I've heard, that is not the case for the European queue.

I was unaware regarding the availability of the queue system in Europe, but I found this info on another tech board, and the person in question waited many months for a 3080, probably since September.

There are many reports that he queue is hardly moving at all now.

The EVGA Elite queue is awesome if you can get your notification request in fast.  I was fortunate enough to get in fast  (9 seconds) and grabbed a 3080 FTW3 HC the same day the queue opened. It took until the 2nd day to get a Kingpin Hydro Copper.

It wouldn't be, but for the record the overwhelming majority of cards are still non-LHR, because Nvidia prefers to sell most of their cards to miners and scalpers (that includes most AIBs now), sometimes directly.

All the Elite program does is give you priority access to the first 24 hours of a new product launch. After that first 24 hours, there is no difference between an Elite member and anyone else.

In most cases, you get put in a queue, in the order in which you signed up to be notified of product availability. Think of it as 'taking a number' at the DMV or the local deli. When your 'number' is called, it's your turn to buy whatever product you signed up for. You'll be sent an email with a link to the product, allowing you to buy it. If you don't respond within the time limit (typically 8 hours) then you lose your place in line, and the next person in line gets notified.

Signing up for a notification does not guarantee a product is immediately available. There's a good chance you may have to wait days, weeks, or even months before it's your turn. When I signed up for the Z590 FTW motherboard, I was within the first two minutes of the queue opening, and it still took a little over a month before I could buy a board. Graphics cards will be much longer in most cases.

Being an Elite member has it's advantages, but isn't an absolute requirement to sign up for product notification, even on new releases. It just moves you to the head of the line, if you act within the first 24 hours of a new product launch.

As of about @six weeks ago new elite members can not use it for GPUs.  You can use it for other items such as a new PSU, MB, etc.
