Those rads are all similar.  You're not going to see a big change if that's what you're looking for.  Maybe the CPU just runs too hot or the case is too small, bad cable management or bad air flow in general.

You were just better off going push and pull, making sure there was good air flow inside the case and making sure the flow was at a constant 1.0-1.5 GPM is all you had to do and worst case scenario, replaced the case.

The XSPC RX series is in a different league compared to the Swiftech MCR-QP. We're talking about 50% more cooling surface. In addition, I'm also pairing the new rads with significantly faster fans (1,200 vs 3,000rpm), thermal controlled of course. I'm hitting a thermal ceiling with the Swifty and changing to push-pull config is not going to completely solve the problem.

Phil

Where in the world is there 50% more cooling surface?  You will not see much of a difference.  Telling you from experience.  Maybe the higher RPM fans might help but still.

With all due respect, I don't think you're thinking this through but this is your funds and your project as you can do as you may.  Just trying to give you some expertise advise in advance.

Good luck phil.

If you can put push-pull then I would suggest a different approach. Use only push with spacer between fan and rad. By spacer I mean for example old gutted fan frames. You will eliminate dead spot under the fan bearing mount. 3000 rpm fans are just industrial noise and you will loose a lot of air pressure without that empty space between fan and rad (especially on a 60 mm model). While XSPC rads are in different league 50% more cooling surface doesn't equal 50% better cooling performance. You will notice slight drop but nothing exceptional. By adding another 480/45 into my system I've noticed at best 3C difference under very heavy load. At idle temps are ridiculously low. If room is cold (night outside today was -15C and right now -8C) and room temp hovers @20C under load I get ~10C difference vs old setup, but with enough heat pumped it still equals around the same level in the end closer to late afternoon.

I'm guessing that your major problem is tropical air. Even if you turbo charge and supercharge it, it's far from ideal as a heat transfer vessel.

Good luck in your refit anyway.

Thanks. The RX360 is twice as thick as the MCR320 and has a slightly higher FPI. Naturally, I'll need higher static pressure and CFM fans to realize the full potential of these rads, hence the new EK Vardar. Will do you folks posted to the outcome.

Gonna change all the rad fans to push air out of the casing.

Quick update. While RMAing my Corsair LPX, I bought a stick of Kingston DDR2133 to use for the time being and managed to get my 5830k overclocked to 4.2Ghz @ 1.2V.

All rad fans are pulling air. Top 360mm is pulling fresh cool air from outside the casing. Bottom 240mm is drawing air below the casing. I've just added a shroud for the top rad to direct hot air out of the casing, and mounted 2 x 100mm fans on the side window to improve air flow within the casing. Unfortunately, push-pull fans and bigger rads are not an option for me due to space constraint.

BTW, both my CPU and GPUs are overclocked.

Dismantled my loop, and taking my time to experiment this time.

Managed to get 2 D5s and the "infamous" Koolance RP-452x2 to reach a new record flow rate! 10Lpm or 2.6gpm from 1.5gpm! LOL...

Yes, I know its overkill and has negligible impact above 1.5gpm, but its reassuring to know I've more than sufficient headroom. Bleeds air amazingly fast too despite the insane turbulence in the rez! Might even consider running the pumps @ a lower speed, althought they're perfectly quiet once the loop is fully bleed.

Those temps still seem a bit high for idle, not dangerous at all, just higher than I would expect.  What was the room temp when this image was grabbed?  And top clarify fan placement, you have the Vadars on the rads and the GT's on the chassis for general circulation NOT on the Rads themselves?

I should have been more specific.  Can you tell us which direction each fan is facing and blowing so I can get a general idea of your internal airflow, front, bottom, top and back, etc.

I've 2 GTs mounted on the side window and another GT behind the case, all blowing cool air into the casing.

The RX360 is mounted at the top of the casing with 3 x FVs pushing hot air out. At the bottom of the casing is the RX240 with 2 x FVs pushing hot air out too.
