Hello everyone!
So I'm SUPER on the fence about purchasing the hybrid kit for my ftw3 2080 ti... I have been looking at what few reviews and comments about this piece of kit there our out there. And I've gotta say... none of it has been helping my decision...
The thing is my card currently at stock runs between 65c - 74c max so far. Under full load. In Witcher 3 it hits the 74c mark easy. Bringing my core clock down between 1980mhz and 2010mhz. I'm constantly reading about people being able to hold 2025 and 2050 in game "easy" most if them say.
And from what I've read on people's thoughts.... its either. A. They get around the same stock temps as I do. Purchase the kit and only see a 5 to 8 degree difference. And deal with a noise I guess the pump has.
Or
B. Their temps hover around the same or hotter than my card. And claim to never go above 58c to 61c....
Now if the second one is true... than shoot yes I'll have that hybrid kit in and out of my cart in a hurry! But if its point A.... I dont know that really worth it....
I also happen to like the way the ftw3 2080 ti ultra looks stock. Not a fan of the way the hybrid shroud looks if I'm being completely honest.
Any info on this piece of kit and how its performed or helped your clocks and temps would be appreciated! So I can finally stop racking my brain on whether this is a good investment or not. Or just wait and save up to eventually install a custom loop.

So also.. by "at stock" I actually mean that I am OC to +70 and +700mem. But with stock cooler. Thanks!

Increase airflow through your case or lower the room temp is the easiest way Seems your really asking how much higher will your FPS be while gaming (?) Depends on: Case Fans: size / pressure/ blow In or Out Other hardware --> how is CPU cooled ? Open side panel of case point fan at PC ---> do temps drop ? Ultra is Great cooler - but - they dump most of the heat into the case - your airflow needs to remove the heat before the ACX sucks in that warm air & causes higher temps Sounds like your Happy with your current setup --> why change it ?

Not necessarily.. I mean I would hope that goes without saying with lower temps and maintained higher clocks. I am running the card in a Fractal meshify s2 case. 280rad up front in in push/pull. 3 exhaust fans. 2 on top and 1 rear. I have messed with different fan speeds almost as much as I possibly can and can't seem to lower temps. I have also removed the foam filters under the metal mesh to increase airflow.

What I would love to achieve is maybe 60c on full load. Or rather maybe 60c to 65c. Lower would also be cool of course. Without having to open up case and point a giant fan at it hah.

Ohhhh alright. Sorry I wasn't aware that was a good way to test that. I have taken off the side panel before. And my core temp drops like 1 degree.

Vertical or Horizontal GPU mount ? Rad at top of case as exhaust with Cold air coming into the case - might - cool better It does take testing to see how Your Rig works best Ultimate MHz you want 50C & Colder
Yes, the Hybrid does a great job of cooling the GPU & RAM - when properly installed & used as Intake
Of course custom loop with water blocks is still best

I put a Hybrid kit on my XC Ultra. I have absolutely NO regrets. Before installation, the fans were screaming just to keep it from throttling. Temps are much lower & noise has been all but eliminated. I don't have numbers now. I'm at work. I will be gaming tonight & can post up some good Idle/ Load numbers if you want.

I can tell you that having the hybrid card in a push/pull outtake from the case caused my temps to barely be better than when I had the stock cooler on my 2080 ti FTW3 ultra. I was getting around 70C with the hybrid kit on stock settings when it was pulling air from inside the case with the radiator installed in the top. When I switched the fans around to intake and draw in fresh air, I am getting around 61C max with +500 mem and a +50 clock OC. This is the same config, radiator mounted at the top of the case, just with fans reversed.

Post your ambient air temp. Make all your fans intake and remove all your PCIE slot covers from the back of the case. You currently have significant negative air pressure in the case because of the intake fans trying to work through the radiator - push pull fans on a rad have less air flow than a free single fan. Replace the TIM.

If you don't mind that would be great! And yeah I've got my fans between 95 to 100 percent to do the same. My 1080 ti was definitely louder than my ftw3. But this card is definitely still loud with fans set that high lol.

68f = 20C, which is pretty cool. My opinion is that you get better cooling with intake fans only and ample exhaust vents around the gpu. Make sure you remove the PCIE slot covers, especially those dual ones (used for a vertical gpu mount) to the side of the GPU, to allow hot air from the GPU to dump out of the case as quickly as possible. You also might be better off with a top intake mount of the radiator, with just intake fans in the front.

Just make sure you do both - all intake fans with big venting (pcie covers removed). Not just removing the pcie covers, which alone won't do anything.

I only have it set at +500 mem and +50 clock for my OC. I would rather preserve the life of the cards then go all out for a couple extra frames. I did run a +1000 mem and +100 clock successfully, but I don't keep it at that.
