https://www.overclock3d.net/news/software/here_s_what_you_need_to_run_death_stranding_on_pc/1 Death Stranding is coming to PC on July 14th, bringing one of 2019's most popular PlayStation exclusives to the PC platform with new features and the promise of 60FPS framerates. Now, Kojima Production has confirmed the PC system requirements for Death Stranding, giving PC gamers a selection of hardware configurations which the developer believes is ideal for 30FPS and 60FPS gameplay. PC gamers will be glad to know that these system requirements aren't overly steep, though it is worth noting that the game's developers recommend graphics cards with at least 4GB of VRAM. CPU-wise, a strong quad-core that's equal to or better than Intel's i5-3470 and AMD's Ryzen 3 1200 are required, though CPUs with more cores or hyperthreading may be necessary for those who wish to play Death Stranding at 60FPS or higher framerates. When Death Stranding launches, the game will be available on both Steam and the Epic Games Store. Minimum (720p 30FPS)OS: Windows 10 CPU: Intel® Core i5-3470 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 RAM: 8 GB GPU: GeForce GTX 1050 3 GB or AMD Radeon RX 560 4 GB DirectX 12 HDD: 80GB Sound cards: DirectX compatible Recommended (1080p 30fps)OS: Windows 10 CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 or AMD Ryzen 5 1400 RAM: 8GB GPU: GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB or Radeon RX 570 4 GB DirectX 12 HDD: 80GB Sound cards: DirectX compatible Recommended (1080p 60fps)OS: Windows 10 CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 RAM: 8GB GPU: GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB or AMD Radeon RX 590 DirectX 12 HDD: 80GB Sound cards: DirectX compatible The recommended hardware isn't too demanding in my opinion.

I guess we would have to read some PlayStation reviews to see if the game has any good quality's ... now that they are finally releasing a PC version

It's one of those games that people like or they hate based on what I have read about it. It really doesn't have an inbetween.

I wouldn't play it either, but, I would grab it just to add to my Epic library of only free games.

The GPU selection seems odd. A 1050 and a 1060 represent the difference between 1280x720 @ 30fps and 1920x1080 @ 60 fps...nearly 5 times the number of pixels rendered per second? The additional VRAM of the 1060 would not explain this, as only a very small amount is utilized by frame buffers--the overwhelming majority is utilized by textures. And it has zero bearing on framerate, of course.

It's probably that the 1050 can do better then 30fps which is the limit of playable while the 1060 can hit closer to 60 with some drops which is considered smooth playable.

I've bought a couple of walking simulators in the past... I learned my lesson quick!

Maybe that's it. The requirements are rather lower overall than I anticipated, and I'm just hoping that it's because the game is really, really well coded and optimized for PC. The reason being that I already know that the "gameplay" is rather...low-key...and further, I've been told that the game is not the Supernatural Horror genre that was very strongly represented by the original teasers from a few years ago (I still can't get over that bait & switch). So my interest is largely based upon the hope of a very visually realistic, atmospheric, and immersive game that I can at least enjoy for it's technology and story/characterization even if the gameplay is mediocre at best....much like GTA V.

"The requirements are rather lower overall than I anticipated, and I'm just hoping that it's because the game is really, really well coded and optimized for PC." Welp....when I wrote that I had completely forgotten what I had learned a few weeks ago, which does not instill confidence. This is what I had posted in another forum on June 4th: Given the eight-month delay between release and PC port, I'm hoping that some impressive coding and optimization was done on the PC version. With this much time, there will be no excuse whatever for any serious and/or obvious problems. (Ten minutes later...) Well, I just discovered that the port was handled by '505 Games'. I don't find this encouraging, as I'm not aware of a single PC project of this caliber that the company actually developed, rather than simply published. And even then, the only published PC game that comes close is Control. From what I can determine, 505 Games has itself developed one single PC game: Bust-A-Move Online in 2007. The remainder of its development portfolio consists almost entirely of such Nintendo DS noteworthies as Farmtopia, Learning to Spell, My First Dollhouse, My Ballet Studio, My Beauty Salon, Picture Perfect Hair Salon, Salon Superstar, My Fashion Studio, and Picture Perfect Pocket Stylist.
