HP Omen 15 with AMD Ryzen 7 5800H and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 spotted - TechnoSports

HP’s Omen 15 was one of the best affordable gaming laptops last year to sport AMD’s gaming processors and NVIDIA discrete graphics. However, this year they have delayed the launch and it seems there’s a good news for gamers who have been looking for the 2021 model with new Ryzen 5000H processors.

HP made the Omen 15 from scratch for AMD’s Ryzen 4000 series processors and made it one of the best thermal efficient gaming laptop last year. So, essentially this year HP doesn’t need to do much as both the socket and TDP remains the same for these AMD Ryzen 5000 series mobile processors. The latest leak from TechnikNews confirm the fact that the new HP Omen 15 (2021) model is on its way, powered by the latest AMD Ryzen 5000H gaming processors. But, much like last year HP is still limiting the laptop’s GPU prowess to an RTX 3060 with 6GB VRAM which is kind of unfair as these AMD processors can easily handle beefier GPUs like RTX 3070 or RTX 3080 easily.

The laptop is said to feature up to 16GB of DDR4-3200 memory along with 512GB of NVMe SSD. Also, much like last year, you will see 6-core Ryzen 5 5600H and 8-core Ryzen 7 5800H options for gamers. You can expect the launch of these AMD-powered models when HP announces the new 2021 Omen 15 models with 11th Gen Core H-series gaming CPUs. Also, NVIDIA is yet to announce the launch of its much-awaited RTX 3050 series of entry-level GPUs, and by this Q2, you can expect more exciting things coming on their way.

Personally the use of the RTX 3060 should reduce costs as compared to the RTX 3070/3080 in my opinion.
