what game even needs a 3090?

A couple come to mind off hand and you really want a 4090 at 3440x1440+, my 3090 TI was not really enough with the latest eye candy tech added.

@SmookinJoe...... I really like that CM HAF XB case you got there. It looks like it would be a fantastic LAN box but maybe even a everyday rig too.
@Nereus..... I think what you have already is more than enough to run 99% of games at 4k with high settings but even if a newer title gives you a hitch you can still use dlss and get a boost. With 24GB of vram youll be able to tackle anything easily for years to come, plus if you update your cpu/mobo/ram/ssd youll be able to pull more out of that gpu.

late to the party here but I am waiting for the 4090 TI.  i still use my 3090 KPHC and it does the job @ 4k for all of my needs tho I dont do any rendering etc.  just light gaming and excel.  it is just a really nice looking piece of hardware too, i will have a hard time retiring it.

good luck with the build.

I read online that Nvidia canceled the 4090Ti.  I was hoping and waiting for the Ti but since it appears to be canceled I went ahead and grabbed the 4090.  I will be upset if a Ti emerges but won't lose any sleep over it.  The article claimed to be from a reliable resource in the industry.  I will have try and find the article.

Update:  Below is the link to the article.

It looks like NVIDIA will have a 512 bit memory bus with the next gen cards in late 2024. A 3090ti will support any game you wish to play very well until then.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

Ya it was Kopite7kimi, been pretty accurate the last launches, Looks like we get nothing until Q1 25 , even the current 4090 is slightly milder and locked down at 1.07v than the launch cards 1.10v, The news of GDR7 and 512 buss sound interesting
