NVidia official response. Connectors weren’t fully connected, but it shouldn’t be that hard to connect them, so a revision will be done.

.04 is approximately the official number of burnt connectors.

NVidia will RMA even with 3rd party cables used.

Install the cable using more force than you think, and then install the GPU into the PC.

People can't connect cables correctly.

So people don't know how to plug in computer cables. Got it.

You don’t see people with melted 8 pin connectors.

Guess they are more easily connected. People need to pay more attention with their expensive hardware.

Yup,  the Connector I installed on my 3090ti before I seated the card in the slot, because it was hard to push, seemed the logical thing to do if I wanted a solid connection , Last night 2 hour MSFS flight pulling 60 more watts than a 4090 and it's always room temperature.

One thing we know is that things like a bent pin on a CPU and people start to blame the brand not themselves.

I believe the cable clip mechanism can be improved so consumers can hear an audible 'click' when the cable is properly seated.

Perhaps they should reconsider the design.

Well, 50 (dumb&dumber) users out of 130.000 sold units doesn't approve redesign.

1) 130,000 "units sold" is not a confirmation that they are in the hands of a user.
2) Even 50 is too many for a new product. Dumb and dumber or not, it points at an engineering or implementation issue which they didn't properly safeguard against. We've never seen so many power connections burnt up in such a short time period.

1. If product is nowhere to be found, that means it is not in retailers but users' hand (exception are scalpers unit possession)
2. I wouldn't touch current design as 50 out of 130K is bellow any need to redesign margin. We've never seen so many users trying to stick huge card in a cramped small case without space for safe cable arrangement.
3. Creating a foolproof product is a big challenge as too many people overestimate their creative abilities.

My FE does make an audible click with both a CableMod cable and a Nvidia adapter.

I've been making sure to click connectors in correctly since my MSI Ellipse SLI X58 board had a 24-pin not fully clicked home and burnt out a connector.

Was checking on 4090/4080 angled power adapters.

CableMod people are fastest and smartest by offering 16-Pin ’12VHPWR’ Cable adapters at 90 and 180 degrees.

Shouldn't EVGA be more initiative and jump to collect money from 4090 and 4080 owners?
Love this design

I was hoping that when EVGA dropped GPU manufacturing that they would produce items like this.

Two or three PCIe 8-pin cables can handle all the power needed. So far very few cards I have used need three power cables.

You did a smart move by ordering cable from PSU to a card.
Blue and black looks great.
I ordered extension (will look the same) but need to hide 3 8pin cables after plugging to extension.

I'm dyslexic. I can't see or tell the difference in some words and letters. He knows I'm dyslexic and I told him before, he just want to troll for the sake of trolling.
When you see words like this its hard to get things right.

That must get annoying. I've known 2 people with dyslexia - one was a family friend and an extremely successful businessman (and a talented musician too), and the other was a well respected doctor (specialist in ear, nose & throat). Dyslexia certainly does not reflect poor intelligence.

Yes, they do!
Bookmarked their site as first choice when looking for this stuff.
And launching angled adapters for 4k cards as first on the web means they are serious company.

I ordered my black/white CableMod (native Corsair Type 4) 12VHPWR to 4 x PCIE a month before I got my ASUS TUF 4090 OC to match the CableMod Pro kit I was already using. Skipped the panic heavy demand (once the melting connector issue was raised) and had the cable in my hands a few days before I got the card (week after launch). I also ordered the water block from EK's Web store the same day I got hold of the card and installed it a week ago whereas computer stores in Australia haven't even moved to list them up for preorder.

People have been melting PCIE 6 pin and PCIE 8 pin connectors and cables for years.  It just doesn't get much social media attention.

I've also melted 4 pin Molex and 4 pin floppy connectors in the past.

I got blue and black , I may have to order the Motherboard cable to match, it is the only other one you can see.  I preordered the FE ek block but changed my mind after the reviews to an MSI , supposedly to ship mid month in DEC, hopefully we see a restock  , they are sitting HARD on restocks and even EBAY is about to run out, they may have brought way more out on this launch but NVIDIA is blocking restocks to sell 30 series left overs, kind sucks they are manipulating the market this hard, hope AMD kicks their butt into gear but not holding my breath,,,

Guess I won’t need to purchase a native 12VHPWR cable from seasonic now that we know all the adapter melting cases were from user error.

Don't forget  the shear number of burnt out 24pin ATX connectors back when tri and quad SLI was a thing.
Its a different demographic that's into PCs today

I burnt out one on an MSI Ellipse X58 board (plug & socket) running 2 x GTX 295's (quad SLI) powered by an Antec Truepower 1000W PSU.
