Hi All, would you be so kind and drop mkaesbauer@evga.com an email with the S/N of the card and a link to this thread then he will update you with a new BIOS for the card that hopefully fix that issue. He will also answer you with instruction on how to flash the cards as this require a second GPU. If you are not able to we will need to do a RMA on this and pick up the card to exchange it.

This is Kind of unfair.... They lied to me 2 times now ... Last week at m first call at the hotline I was asking if there is any way to flash the cards bios -.- the answer was "no way sorry"... 2nd lie... they told me they are testing these cards before selling....especially the RMA cards before they go out ! Thank you EVGA for one of my best experiences with graphic card brands Sorry but keep your faulty cards yourself, and so do with your lies... I won't ever buy or recommend an evga product again ... I felt the same way once when I owned a pair of EVGA 9800GT boards that never worked right no matter what I tried. I used nothing but Sapphire AMD boards for years until someone finally convinced me that EVGA was one of the better companies out there. So I jumped on a EVGA GTX-570 and was not disappointed. I even bought a second one for SLI. Flashing the VBIOS on a Maxwell video board is a lot different from previous video boards. First you need to disable the video board in your Device Manager. After that you'll need to manually set your Resolution in Windows video settings just to be able to see the screen. After you flash the BIOS you need to reboot before enabling the video board again. These problems occassionally happen especially with a static sensitive device. I really think think you should give EVGA customer support a chance. They have never disappointed me.

I am sorry to hear you have your cards already shipped! CS was not lying about this, at the time you contacted them we had not been aware of that issue! We have to apologize for all circumstances you have because of that issue! Did you get the offer of a UPS Pick Up or did you pay yourselv for shipping?

i said it was my last post, but i changed my mind. Not because of the apologize. The reason is that UPS was not able to pickup the pakage from my neighbour i left it. So i still got one of my cards, its the one from EVGAs RMA... I'd like to say, that after i wrote a really long email as i mentioned before today in the morning. I got allready an answer for my complains, but the answer of the CS is not satisfying me at all. I feel like they didn't even read my complains.... Just an example, i wrote i got 2 broken cards, what should i do now? And that i got a lot of fuel coast and time spend on this to figure out. The answer was not like "hey you get some % discount on your next shopping at our store" no it was like : "let us know, when the card arrive and if it is working" . Did they even read that the card will be picked up today ? i dont think so.... Its frustrating, like i wrote an email to a big white wall.... at least the effectivity of the answer was the same.... Allright, i'll give this a last chance. Dominik did you really asking me about if i was paying for the shipping ? Even if i was, this would be the lowest of all cost i got caused by this graphic cards. I think i am so disappointed because i set my expectations really high on EVGA because of all recommendations of the brand EVGA.

yea thats kind of lame for any CS not to deal, but i dont expect much with any company these days they just dont need to fight for their customers anymore, thanks to the interwebs, online shopping and product reviews etc. i'm just wondering if these cards dont get tested after the fact of putting the ek block on them? since we dont use the same hardware anywhere else it seems quite like an universal problem? btw: still no response to my mail ...

My words :D but i got evga recommended by so many people that is why my expectations were to high :P I've even recommended the cards by myself without even having experience on them, just by sharing the experience of a few friends.... *lawl* So i've been one of these people making it possible, that companies don't have to fight for customers *slapping myself* :P I should have know it better... i am dealing with this kind of incompetence every day at work in the IT industry Looseratwork i'm just wondering if these cards dont get tested after the fact of putting the ek block on them? since we dont use the same hardware anywhere else it seems quite like an universal problem? If they would have been testing it and not only telling lies like they did on the phone by telling me "...8-24 hours testing..." they would not run into problems like this ! And i am really sure they do not testing them after putting the EK Block on top... We all have tested our cards at different hardware, chipset, bios, ram, psu and cpu... so this is an universal problem. Looseratwork btw: still no response to my mail ...
yeah, me neither got a mail... my patients is still close the end... Btw. i have been asking for an email adress of the quality assurance of EVGA --> answer: "please contact the normal Email adress which you can find on our website" So did I... and where can i complain about the guys i send my complainations to ? :D I think the recommendations of other people and their advertisement for EVGA products makes it even possible not having a quality management at all :D they are simple that good at what they are doing that they don't need useless things like QA ;-)

Please provide a feedback if you are allready trying to flash the rom. I'll be able to do it in the evening... so i'd be happy to know if somebody fixed the issue before i get home :) is this the way to flash a card ? http://forums.evga.com/HO...AN-GUIDE-m1891166.aspx

You should ask support to be sure but when I ever got a BIOS to flash from EVGA the installer was included in the zip file. The only difference with Maxwell 900 series boards that I am aware of is that they need to be disabled in Device Manager before flashing. If the installer/flash utility is not included then you can use this tutorial here that I used: http://www.overclock.net/t/1523391/easy-nvflash-guide-with-pictures-for-gtx-970-980

yea, only got the .rom file nothing more... and he mentioned something about NVFlash but no tutorial or howto... thanks zuhl for the link to the tutorial! Allright, I'll flash my card next 2 hours, if it will not work, i'll get any other card TODAY, because i realized the RMA center is about 40km from the city i live, so i can easily drive there and RMA personally :D and belive me i won't leave the center before they show me the card is working :P

Let me know if you have any problems. When I wanted matching BIOS on both of my MSI GTX-980 Gaming 4G video boards, Svet at MSI forums sent me the new BIOS with a complete installer package that flashed my boards for me. I still had to disable them first using my Device Manager. I'll make it available to you through my OneDrive account but I'll have to delete the MSI .rom file first so you don't accidentally flash that onto a EVGA board. After that you'll need to 'Rename' your BIOS from EVGA to '114.rom' and paste it into the folder to make it work for you. Good luck, I hope the new BIOS fixes things for you.

Looseratwork well thats not helpful
I'm guessing the 980 ti is in the first pci-e slot closest to the cpu? If so, switch the 660 around with the 980 ti and retry.
