When those 980 Classifieds come out, how much VRAM will they have? Hopefully at least 8GB. And, will there be a 980 Ti Classified? Or, perhaps Kingpin will find his name on one as well? I'm pushing for more VRAM and CUDA cores since these monitors continue on past 4K - there's 5K monitors out there now. Not to mention multiple 4K monitors. It ain't stopping.

Where would SLI'd 670's fall behind in terms of performance. We are talking the 2gb models here and not the 4gb. I have been contemplating SLI GTX970's.

I think Im very impressed with the new Nvidia cards. They perform well and they start at $550. Looks like they listen to their customer and lowered the pricing to compete with the competition.

hopefully it only comes with 4gb, these cards are made for benching first, and more vram chips/denser vram chips = harder to overclock.

I wouldn't say it would "blow it away". The 970 FTW is almost as fast as the 780ti...the 980 IS faster than the 780ti. Therefore with the right scaling the 980 SLI is def faster than the 780 SLI as it's probably equal if not a touch faster than the 780ti SLI.

Anyway to get benches though with surround systems. Curious if the 980 in 1600p or 4k surround performs better than titans? Friends are using tri sli titans and 1600p / 4k surround still is stretched thin. Curious if the 980 is better with lower memory

Finally something worth upgrading my SLI 680 Lightnings. I'll probably just buy the reference superclocked version though since finding replacement waterblocks in 2 years for the "special" versions is impossible.

Not exactly true. If you adjust the clocks of the 780ti so that it runs at the same frequency as the GTX 980 the 780 ti's run for all purposes basically the same or a tad faster. But to keep it simple, its physically impossible to tell the difference in performance between the 780's and the 980's visually.

Sorry it would not blow them away i switched from 2x titans to 2x980 and i see on average 15-25% speed increase... with 1500mhz clocks on 980 which Ti cant never reach... if you lucky to get 1250-1300 (way above the average) and then only then will be close to 980's, at the average overclocks of 1150-1175 they will be slower around 10%.
