Hi all, posting to see if anyone has any hope they can give me

I installed a  new CPU cooler yesterday, without removing the the GPU, or even touching it.
(I know it's not the reason because the old cooler doesn't make a difference)
Afterwards, i got a black screen while Windows 10 was booting.
The card was working fine before the cooler install.

So i tried literally every single solution possible,
Different OS(win7,8,10)
Different PCIE configurations (it's not a PCIE problem, the VGA native display works)

What i found out is that this problem is caused by installing the NVIDIA drivers
After removing it with DDU, i can see the screen again via VGA.

Every time i install the NVIDIA Drivers to make it actually WORK, it goes black after the "Windows is Starting" Screen

I tried literally every single NVIDIA driver i could find.

I tried pretty much everything, short of flashing the GPU Bios(I did flash the Mobo BIOS)

I can't RMA the card (thanks EVGA "Superior customer service team") because it's barely past warranty
XFX replaces cards regardless of warranty if their customers are having difficulties, because they know what REAL customer service is.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

On a sidenote: Im not going to buy PC anymore, just going to get a Mac from now on, never have these issues ugly issues

I don't think you're going to get much help here if you start off bashing EVGA when you are out of warranty. The first thing I do when I purchase my hardware is add the extended warranty for about 24 bucks. Most companies don't offer lifetime warranties anymore. EVGA used to as well. XFX discontinued their lifetime support as well. There is a case on XFX support where a guy claimed he got service post warranty, however, customer support wrote back to him and let him know he still fell under warranty for the issue he had. As they put it, there were no special favors done here.
Also, you need to give more details on your hardware. What video card you have: model number, MB, CPU, Memory etc.

    Thanks, Bret

Sounds like the card is defective. Can you reproduce the black screen on all gpu outputs? Can you reproduce the black screen in another computer?

How about another card? Do you have one you may have upgraded from that is similar? Or a friend who has one? This would get you the same answers since you only have one PC.

    Thanks, Bret

I am having similar issues with the 780 SC.  I gave it to my nephew while they have been waiting in the Queue for the 360 ( or rather I have since they have me do their IT stuff).

The card worked great and was operating fine until after it took some sort of windows update and the driver for it became incompatible with windows.  Now it wont start up unless in safe mode.  I have done DUA uninstall and can now get it to load normally, but the drivers are uninstalled so there is no more ability to game with it. Ive tried several Nvidia Driver versions that dont work. When I go to Device manager, it finds the 780 but says that it is giving it warnings and has disabled it.  I assume a few things based on research but was hoping someone else had found a fix...

Assumption 1: Issue with Driver Signing...
Assumption 2: Windows has a setting somewhere that makes the 780 Incompatible.

Also tried... I went back to Nvidia Driver 399.xx and that did not help at all.  I also installed from Geforce Experience, and that did not help anything. I always end up having to run DUA to remove drivers.  I have not tried the safe boot with driver signing disabled... and plan to this evening.  Was hoping OP maybe found a solution too as it seems most people quit responding after they find a fix.

Use DDU to uninstall the nvidia drivers: https://www.wagnardsoft.com/content/display-driver-uninstaller-ddu-v18043-released  Then download a older win driver like 461.51,make sure you get the correct driver for your O/S though..... i just used that driver with my old evga gtx780 FE while waiting for my 3090 in step up and it was great, then download NVCleanstall: https://www.techpowerup.com/download/techpowerup-nvcleanstall/  and point it to the driver you downloaded and then tell it only to install the driver and the physx driver thats it. You will NEED to stop windows update, its push services and orchestrator service at least to stop it from wanting to run your driver install over again BEFORE you make a attempt at installing like this. You can unplug from internet and have success but as soon as you plug back in to it win update will destroy your setup again. You can get o&o shutup tool but it can break some things so you may have to do some preference maintenance to get it setup for your pc style. https://www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10  Let us know what you do and how it goes.
