It is hard for me to tell lol. Have my face inside my case and I can only tell that the card is making a rattling noise. It is very random, not at all constant. Thrilled with the performance of the card though.

Like I mean this fan running hit too close on heat sink make noise! Let try spin the fan by your fingers and try listen where the rattle come from!!!

See my explanation on page 3 and test manualy every % of the fan speed to determine the speed that the noise apears!

Still on my 2nd ACX card, still the same ridiculous resonance from the fans at various speeds, still the same deathly silence from EVGA support. Will have to purchase an aftermarket cooler. Even the cheapo Palit cards I've had before didn't make any resonance noise.

I just listened to my 780 SC ACX last night and it sounded quiet. Very impressed. One of the fan does emit a faint .. what's the word?.. hum? but it's barely audible.

I added a second 780 SC yesterday, the first one resonates / drones / etc at 41 % the second card at 45%. It's really poor that an expensive card arrives with these problems, it can only be down to poor design or quality control, and you certainly should not have to strip down the cooler to fix it yourself. I am going to try and get some stock Titan coolers

I guess the rattle could be fixed by moveing the mount on the heatsink for the fan and placing some msall padding between the metal. Just theorizing here. Though that would mean takign the whole cooler apart.
i finaly got ahold of some IPA solution so i can replace the TIM on my card anytime now, ill see what the cooler looks like up close when i do and update here.
BTW for thos wondering why peopel run high fan speeds. My GPU has to run at around 75% on stock to keep in the 70's, and runs at ~85% with te small OC i have on it to keeparound 75c. I have a hot running card, hence why im replacing the TIM.
I was thinking that too...or a drop of hot melt glue between the two. Has anyone tried to fix this on there own that's complaining about it? So at higher speeds the noise stops, rite?!?!? maybe the air pressure at a higher speed is pushing the shroud up higher off the sink/fans and that's whats stopping the noise. most fans have a little play in them too from the bearing setup so that may be part of the issue too. wish I owned one so I could play with it ad fix it cause it sounds like a pretty easy fix.

Yes, i have tried and solved it( 90% of it)....see page 3. I did not find hot glue a fix....because it could melt again because you are glueing an HEATsink. I think that at some speeds(of the fans) the fins crash in to eacth other and make the noise. As anyone tried my fix yet?

Hot melt glue on the top of the fins between them and the metal outside shroud would stop the vibration between the two if any. It doesn't get hot enough up there to remelt the glue, plus with the draft from the fans it will keep it solid even if it did melt a little. That was what I was getting at and figured I wouldn't have to go into this long elaborate explanation.

In my case the vibration is beteween the fins not between the fins and the shroud. And about the warranty? Do you think that using your metod the card is still on warranty?

Why not you can try use blue tac stick where the noise problem if this happen stop racket noise then you will need RMA card to replace better card!!! it up to you!!!

Hi all, recently I am the owner GTX780 SC ACX. It seems to me that I have a similar problem with a rattle, vibration, resonance. Some fan speed is highly annoying. I recorded the sound with my microphone in a fairly good quality of what came by accident. Please verify that the sound in this topic is the same. www(dot)dropbox(dot)com/s/0jtvm5echw1du3f/fans2.wav

Yes, I read about this solution. Unfortunately, I do not want to remove cooling alone. EVGA support told me to send them to test and they sent me a new one. I'm afraid that another piece may be the same or worse. Not to mention the quality of the GPU processor. ASIC 76% is not the worst result and sometimes there are a lot worse.

Not yet. I wonder if it would be better to refer to the seller In Poland I have 10 days to return it and the possibility exchange to a new model. The card must look for an unused but the seller may always attach to something and take the standard warranty. I don't want to wait that long. I bought the card seven days ago. My old card is EVGA GTX260 core216. This is really beast.

I'm recommending them because I would go with one of them if I could sell my ACX for the exact amount I paid and get a new card. a I got the BIOS update for my ACX and it's fine at idle -- which is when I notice the noise because I'm usually sitting in a very quiet room. At load, I'm gaming so whatever noise the device produces is drowned out. As long as it isn't as loud as any of the blower style cards at load, I'm fine, but since you can make the return, why not go ahead and do that and forget this card. It's silly how this thing is touted as being silent, but rattles and whines at different fanspeeds and there's literally no solution. Oh and unlike most of the other custom cooling solution cards, it doesn't come with a free backplate, lol. I do regret buying the ACX -- I should have waited for a while to get something else.

This is exactly my card in idle too. I don't like how it sounds. So is this sound behaviour normal? I just bought it 3 days ago so if it isn't, ill jump on board a RMA.

For me, it is heard loudest at 51-53% and 71-79% fan speed. Between them is a different but much better.

I'm going to call my seller to see what can be done, I just don't think it's normal. How could EVGA overlook this blatantly obvious fault and sell it otherwise? I

Hi there i get my classy 3 days ago and recognized the same noisy fan vibrations like in the video. It appears between 44-46% or near 1600rpm. Im going to check the solution on page 3, but it p***** me off to repair a brand new 800bucks card. Thought EVGA stands for good quality, but it seems like EVGA still hasn't done anything about that problem.... Does anybody have news about their RMA issue?

Take a look at this: http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=2018526Read the full post. You have 3 options: 1-let it be like that. 2- RMA it. 3- Try to fix it with the solution.
