I've just gotten the red screen of death on my two 680 Classifieds and I started to think, ohh not this again! Then I remember when I first got 680's I had the red screen of death and that re-seating the SLI bridge fixed it.

Lo and behold, it fixed it again! Not sure if there is some sort of protective coating applied to the SLI connectors or bridge, but re-seating the SLI bridge has fixed this twice for me now. Obviously if you are single card your problem lies elsewhere.

Well, Seyumi, in this case I am 100% sure it is a software. In fact, I guarantee you 100% that even your supposedly good/non-RSODing card will RSOD if you install MagicTune.

You can try just for the 'kick' or as proof of concept to install any version of MagicTune and reboot on your system (I think 4.0.14 is the latest one). The link to Samsung's download is samsung.com/us/consumer/learningresources/monitor/magetune/pop_download.html

You can always uninstall it in safe mode, but I am willing to bet that your card will RSOD for sure as well. The problem here is that it tries to access some video BIOS address where it acquired info about the card before, but layout of BIOS has changed in 600 series. So accessing that BIOS address will give you RSOD 100%

CPU: i7 3930k (OCed to 4.3GHz)
CPU HSF: Noctua nh-d14
MoBo: ASUS Rampage IV Extreme
PSU: Corsair Pro Gold AX1200 (1200 watts)
Video: eVGA GTX680 FTW+ (4GB)
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Z 16GB (4x4GB) @ 1866MHz
HDD: 1) Crucial M4 128GB SSD, 2) Seagate 1TB (sata 6, didn't bother to write the model)
Case: Cooler Master  Cosmos II

Almost pissed off to no end with this RSOD issue.  I have a EVGA Geforce GTX 670... I don't have ANY tweaks, overclocking, or monitoring programs installed.  I get the rsod before the login screen and after the start windows logo.  If I disable/uninstall the driver for the card it boots up just fine.  But the minute I try to enable/update the driver.  Boom rsod.  Updated the bios, rsod.  Used the latest driver 306.xx, rsod.  Reset my Asus Sabertooth P67 MB to default settings... RSOD. WHAT THEE FK!!!! I spent too much money for this to be giving me a headache of this caliber...  Any suggestions before I spontaneously combust???

How many people here getting Red Screens are using more 2 or more monitors? If you are OR are not Experiencing Red Screens with 1 Monitors please post that information as well. I'm still trying to get to the bottom of this after ~5 Months!

The gtx 680 ftw I had before the one I am using now used to red screen quite often among other problems.

I rma'd that card and the replacement ftw card evga sent me has never red screened...I am sure every situation/problem is unique but I can't help but to think alot of these red screen issues are faulty cards based off of my experience but then again I was told by evga when they recieved my faulty card that it tested fine by them so I'm not sure what to think all I know is that card in my system I sent back to evga gave me the dicken's.

I am also having RSOD to in BF3 and have tried to eliminate this frustrating problem with my EVGA GTX670 with no luck.

I Really like the EVGA staff for all the help they have given me and hold nothing against them. But on that note i have to say that im not going to waste anymore of my game time wondering if im going to be able to finish a round of BF3 and collect my XP which is hard for me to get as im not a Premium player so if a different brand will eliminate this problem i will most likely consider this option.

Never in my history with Nvidia have i not been able to do a clean format update drivers slap on a BF series and enjoy.

RSoD is a faulty card and is NOT software related.

I don't know how many times it has to be said, but

This is where I disagree. I have had 4 GTX 6XX's so far.
GTX 670, GTX 670 FTW, GTX 680 and now another GTX 680.
The first three all RSOD'd daily during APB: Reloaded sessions, a couple BF3 sessions and PS2 Beta sessions. This last GTX 680 that I picked up has yet to RSOD, I'm only on day 3 though. Time will tell.
