I just heard that Nvidia will launch the GTX 590 soon and I hope that this will not be true because i just bought 3 gtx 580. WHat the hell is wrong with this people, until when we will spend money and they will keep changing things so fast, nvidia gtx 580 don't even have 2 months and a half and they already want to bring the gtx 590 to the market. Stupid freaks

I also just ordered two 580 hydro copper 2's and the way I look at it is as soon as the 590's come out I'll be on ebay and get my third one cheap! So it's all good.

Well that all depends on the GTX 590's PCB layout and since there are not many details on how the PCB layout will look like except that early Engineering Sample from Week 49 of 2010, there is little to be known if that water block will fit or not.

Just a matter of waiting until more is known of GTX 590's layout

we gonna get any more information on this, we are half way through the month, and not a peep from Nvidia.

590 a  pipe dream? Or are we gonna get this thing done?

I've got my eyes on this too....

Does anyone know when the 295's came out? Meaning, was that release beyond 90 days from the 280 street date?

.....It doesn't make financial sense for them to release the card in time for everyone (Being people who purchased on release date) to step up.

That said, I have 27 days left before my step up expires.

IIRC, the GTX295 was released well over 6 months from the GTX280 release date, and was the first gt200b (55nm) based product. I think it was announced in December, and launched in Janurary? While the GTX280 was launched the June before?

you sir, are correct....Jan 2009 = GTX 295, June 2008 = GTX 280....heck, even the refreshed GTX 280 (aka GTX 285) came out in Jan 2009 too...

Geez--you've got GTX 580x3 sli and you are feeling down?? Be Happy!! That's a killer setup--although I think your CPU will be a bottleneck for 3 of those cards tbh. Anyways, if you are always unhappy when something new comes out, computers are  probably a bad choice for a hobby/interest.

the ax850 is a PSU, not a waterblock, and yes, an ax850 should easily be able to handle it. a single 580 pulls 244w max, which has raised all the concerns about proper power from pci-e connectors, so it will pulling, at the greatest 488w, which is still very unfeasible. combine that with 125w cpu and 100w of peripherals, and you're still sitting around 700w, and that would be with everything running max tdp

I could be wrong (there is always a first time for everything) but the odds of Nvidia releasing a reference dual GPU card exceeding 300 watts TDP is essentially zero. You folks take that into consideration when pondering vapor ware*.

*think of what dual GPU's, even gimped, would meet that standard

Not so sure, what would it do to them? Apart from no OEM's buying the cards which would never happen anyway as OEM's like to provide the consumer with low-end hardware for high-end prices... :P

I know...I miss the days when we could point and laugh at someone needing help fixing a $6000 dollar Alienware PC when he could of had a competent 12 year old build a better one for for a third or less of that....good times LOL
