I just heard that Nvidia will launch the GTX 590 soon and I hope that this will not be true because i just bought 3 gtx 580. WHat the hell is wrong with this people, until when we will spend money and they will keep changing things so fast, nvidia gtx 580 don't even have 2 months and a half and they already want to bring the gtx 590 to the market. Stupid freaks

What is wrong again? What is wrong with 3x580? The 590 is a dual chip card. It really is something completely different all together. I was upset (mildly, very mildly) when they released the 500 series so fast, but that is because it was really what the 400 series was supposed to be. I wouldn't have been bothered with a dual chip 400 series card released. Maybe you can step up if you like?

while that may be true, there not going to be that cheap to start with and they may be underclocked and may not be able to hit speeds a 580/570 can, we don't have rock solid specs of it yet, but im sure once you see it, you'll be happy you have the 580's.

No that is how it works.  Plain and simple.  And I agree in gaming performance anyway 3 top of the line cards will game just as well as 2 x 590s I would expect.  There is really very little gain after the second GPU no matter which setup you use.

who knows for sure the 590 is 2x gimped clocked 580`s? 2 560`s seems much more likey to me and that card would still rock

Well, one thing that's in the back of my mind is that it has to be faster than AMD's (nay, ATI's) offering. Else, what's the point?

Other than that, your guess is as good as mine. It's still vaporware.

Below a pic of the new card.

    Re:GTX 590 2011/02/05 17:42:37 (permalink)
    dont worry about it Henry.

Not all games support Quad SLi. With that being said not all games even do well in Quad sli. If you look at benchmarks of tri sli vs quad SLI the quads have a lot more dips in FPS and most of the time get lower mind FPS.

3 x 580s will do perfect for you in every game and also when you run into games that dont support sli or have bugs and problems with SLI you can always run one of your 580's and get great performance where as someone with 2x 590's or whatever they are called will be forced to use a gimped card.

The only upside to Quad SLI is Vantage really. You wont get that much more performance in gaming so dont worrY!

CHeck these benchmarks out and remember.. THIS IS 4x 580's vs 3x 580's.. The 590's will not be able to do what 2x 580's can do.

I don't think there is anything written in stone yet that says the dual 590 setup will outrun your tri 580 setup. Also your 580s may overclock more and run cooler than the 590s.

regardless of what the 590 brings... 5-7 months from now keplar will out perform the 590 and the 590. That is technology.

NO WAY do you have any information on this possibility. It is what I have been waiting for, dont know what they would do to it to make it a 585, but this is the only thing that would convince me to upgrade before keplar

It Happens to all of us I'm sure, like for example when I paid $328 for my 320MB 8800 GTS in the past Nvidia comes out with a Faster 512MB 8800 GT for just $200, I was Mega Pissed when they did that.

And this is why I don't get any more than 2 graphics cards.... because in 6-12 months, something faster and cheaper will come along. I think we can all agree that electronics is a terrible thing to invest money in. You buy it for pure enjoyment and expect to lose a lot of money.
