Okay, as some of you may know, I had to send in one of my GTX 570's in for RMA about a week ago due to the fan being on at full blast as soon as I power the machine up. So I have been waiting to hear when the replacement is going to be shipped out, so I checked the open RMA section of the support portion of the website. And it says... "Preparing to ship Product", and the product that is being returned to me is a GTX 660ti???
That would be fine and dandy if I didn't have a new GTX 670 FTW that I bought when my GTX 570 died, and the other GTX 570 that was part of the SLI set up... Now what am I supposed to do with a GTX 660ti? I know its a newer generation card, but it seems like moving backwards a bit, and it is one of the non reference, two fan deals, which I have never been a fan of. And it is about $60 cheaper new than what I paid for my GTX 570 when I bought it, so I really don't see how that is equal or greater.... I sent in a more expensive card and got a step down that is cheaper than what I paid for originally?
Now I am trying to be picky about what I am going to receive, but I would much rather it be a GTX 670 and pay whatever the difference is of the two cards, and put it with my current GTX 670 FTW or atleast be a GTX570 so I could sell the 670 FTW and at least get back to my original set up. It is just going to be a massive pain if I am going to be getting a 660ti back, which I ultimately would not be keeping. I am just sort of confused as to why I would be getting that particular card back??
If anybody has any information about this kind of thing please let me know ASAP. It is just going to be a huge pain if I end up receiving a GTX 660ti... This sucks.

So this is what I receive back from my support ticket....

    Hello Jordan,

I do apologize for any confusion regarding RMAs. Replacements are not based on value, they are based on performance. If we are unable to provide the same part number back, then we replace it with something of equal or greater performance. I can confirm that the 660 Ti FTW Signature 2 is a better performing card. However, if you are unhappy with that, we can set up another RMA and try to replace that with another 570. Unfortunately we would be unable to offer a 670 FTW as a replacement.

    Regards,
    EVGA

So now, I am being forced to upgrade or should I say "downgrade"??? Is this some sort of a joke? What am I supposed to do with the GTX 570 that I already have? I specifically stated that this was coming from an SLI set up?? This is crazy.

    Dear whitnasty1,

I can confirm that we are here to assist with a replacement of equal or greater performance when processing an RMA request. In this case the GTX 570 was not available and in order to avoid any delays a GTX 660 Ti was sent out to assist you. Since you are running SLI we can assist with having your other GTX 570 changed to the same model as your recent replacement through the RMA process if preferred. Please email me at chrisb@evga.com if you would like assist with this process. I will be awaiting your response.

Yeah I am hoping that is what I will be able to do, I guess I can just sell my 670 and wait for the GTX 700's to come out since I will just be getting two 660's in the place of my 570's. Hopefully everything will end up working out okay.

I have sent Chris B. a few e-mails so hopefully, he will work with me to figure something out, because it would be a shame for a perfectly good GTX 570 go to waste, and then have to spend a good bit more money to purchase something to give me comparable performance.

You're kidding right? I just RMAed a 570 not a month ago and got a 570 back i would have happily taken 2 660ti sig 2s in place of my 570s since ive already had 2 blow up and the 2 i have now are complete garbage (on the verge of having to RMA again because of random crashes because they dont work well together).   But yea evga should send you 2x 660tis since you did specify it was part of a SLI setup.

    Hi Crusheddream,

I am very sorry to hear that you are having a problem with your EVGA product. I can confirm that the EVGA RMA process will replace the product with another of the same model if available and if for any reason it is not then we will change the product for one of equal or greater performance depending on the available inventory. If EVGA breaks the SLI and the other card is a EVGA product then we will of course fix that SLI to make sure the cards match.

I can recommend that if you are having a problem with your card to contact our support at 1-888-881-3842 or by email at support@evga.com and we can assist you with warranty on your product.

    Thank You,
    EVGA Customer Support

The 570's I've had have been absolutely wonderful to me, they are some of my favorite cards I've had in a long time. Rock solid cards, I hate that you have had problems with yours. Hopefully the two 660ti Sigs will be as solid as my two 570's have been.Hopefully, I will see a decent little boost in performance as well.

     Chris,
Thanks so much for all of the help you have provided over the last week, it looks like the first 660ti will arrive tomorrow, so I will shoot you an e-mail whenever I receive it and get it hooked up and rolling. Thanks again!

with 2 660 TI you are set for a while and they would re sell easy should a new card be in your future.

Just got the second 660ti from RMA. Seems to be doing pretty well so far, just ran it through a single run of 3DMark11. With my 570's in SLI @ 890MHz and 2600K @4.7GHz my highest score was a flat P12000. I just ran it again with the CPU downclocked to 4.5GHz and both of the 660ti FTW Sig 2's running at their stock clocks and I scored a P14711. Pretty impressed with them really!! I would like to hit P15000, I am sure once I knock my CPU overclock up a little bit more and then get a small overclock out of my 660ti's I should be able to hit it I would think. Thanks very much EVGA for helping me out and getting me straightened out! Will be sending the GTX 570 back out in the the next day or so! Thanks again!

I have my GTX 570 in for rma , du to display port out of order.
I would certainly 'hope to do not get my 570 swapped for a 660 ti .
I am running @ 2560x1140 and the 660 ti is not as effective in high resolutions ( pixelrate ) as the 570 is.
The GeForce GTX 570 will be a lot (more or less 33%) more effective at FSAA than the GeForce GTX 660 Ti, and also capable of handling higher screen resolutions more effectively.
670 be more equal cause Both cards have exactly the same pixel fill rate, so theoretically they should be equally good at at anti-aliasing, and be capable of handling the same resolutions.
So I'd rather have a 570 back or a 670 for next or equal performance

I'm sure you are aware they will send you a 570 if they have one, not having one today does not mean there won't be one by the time your arrives.

I hope you put all the details about your display set up on the RMA? if not tape a note to the card when you send it in, you never can tell what will happen  :)

Ok, I have a similar situation. Two days ago, I bought another 780 classified to complement the one that I bought back in 2014. Before my new card arrived, Witcher 3 killed my original 780. What I'm concerned about is that when I send in my dead 780 (RMA'd yesterday) they won't have another 780 classy. And since I bought the other card second hand on ebay (not sure yet whether or not it is registered by previous owner) I don't think EVGA would allow me to send it in to trade for another (970 presumably) card. Any input would be appreciated

I realize I'm putting the horse way before the cart here but college starts up again in a week and I'm not gonna have much time to deal with it then.
