I attempted to update my driver through the "GeForce Experience" app and it made my screen go black for over 5 minutes. I eventually gave up and just rebooted my computer. Now, it just stays at that black screen and sometimes it is just stuck at the balls going in circles in a low-res screen. I tried doing win+p, and I can still log in but I cannot see anything. I would expect EVGA (or NVIDIA whoever made it) to release a driver that would actually be able to function with its hardware. My Graphics Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW HYBRID GAMING Graphics Card

Welcome to the Forum benpete420After a few minutes Press the Enter Key and see if the computer restarts. Or Don't use "GeForce Experience" to update the Driver. Only NVIDIA Manages the Drivers as well as "GeForce Experience" What OS are you Running and is it 64Bit or 32Bit? Driver Download Link DDU Official Display Driver Uninstaller DDU Download

It's just stuck at low-res spinning balls, and the enter key doesn't help

Yes, except it is stuck on loading with the 5 spinning balls. I have a recovery USB with the install ISO EDIT: But before it got stuck on the spinning balls, it would just be a cursor on a black screen even after I rebooted

So when I try to install while keeping my files, it won't let me install it. It says that I have to do it from the windows OS itself.

You may then have to do a fresh OS install then or take your computer to a local computer store to help you out.

Also, I would remove your GPU during all of this and use integrated until you are able to use DDU.

I'll just have to take it out I guess... or is there a usb OS that can make a backup of everything on my 120GB SSD, transfer it to my 2TB HDD, and then restore it?

That is what this is for "Windows 7 type OS Backup Image" you will find it under the Control Panel.

I fixed it by removing the graphics card, running DDU in safe mode, putting the graphics card back in, and then booting it up. Thanks for all the help!
