I recently got the EVGA GTX 1070 FTW and the RGB feature was a big selling point for me along with many others and before I installed the drivers i noticed that the LED section closest to the 2 PCI-E power inputs was a bit off color wise from the other sections. I thought installing the drivers would fix this but no matter what color it is set to, the LED section is always a bit off from the rest of the card's led sections. The led color difference is really annoying because I have a case with a side window and it's on my desk next to me and I can see it out of the corner of my eye. Is this fixable? If not I am just going to replace it. Update: really getting annoyed with my this, might just replace with an ASUS STRIX Instead.

Others in the forum have reported inconsistencies in the LED brightness and shading. Here is one user. I didn't go through the search any more than this one. http://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2498459

The letters "FTW" change colors slightly earlier than the rest of the lettering on the 1070 FTW I received.

That's normal behavior. It's because the base colors on the transparency strip are different. When the RGB LED is white, you'll see white and blue lettering. As you change the color of the RGB LED, the white and blue filters will cause different colors to show through.

Click on the gear on the bottom right of the precision x software. It's under the LED tab

I am having same issue. I have received my 1070 FTW and installed drivers on the cd and latest XOC there is a LED tab in XOC but it is not active. Now installed latest WHQL drivers from nVidia and issue still persists. Here is my GPUZ and XOC ss:

So my FTW isn't really a FTW inside? EDIT:I have compared other users' sshots with mine and saw my card isn't even EVGA. ****??? I will register my unit as soon as I get home. So I can prove that I own a real EVGA 1070 FTW.

I couldn't enable LED controls whatever I did: Upgraded BIOS to latest, Removed the drivers and cleaned all the settings and then reinstall Removed the XOC and cleared all the settings and then reinstall with no joy :( I think the FTW is my ugliest part in my rig unfortunately. Because every LED is red except the video card. It is unbearably bright white.. Now I don't even look at the thing... Closed all the covers so I won't see this ugly white thing! Should I open a ticket on support?

Why didn't you open a support ticket straight away? this thread is months old now and the issue could have been resolved 10 times already if you contacted evga support. (i don't understand who chooses his pc parts by leds but then again i never understood leds)

The solution is to reflash the original vbios.

I don't want to be mean and if my language looks like it, sorry for that, because English is not my native language. Answer is straight NO. Because I am using the original VBIOS at first and hoping that would be solution, flashed the latest BIOS. That didn't worked out. It is very frustrating issue as I bought the FTW for this very reason amongst others: Customize LED color! But if you are referring by "original VBIOS" is flashing a NVIDIA reference BIOS I can't really say I would prefer that way. Waiting the support ticket to be solved. Thanks to all who tried to help on this issue.

@cNone Have you tired any older versions of precision xoc? Maybe a older version will allow the led tab to work. If using a older version of precision xoc doesn't help resolve the problem try checking the card to make sure the led cables are fully seated to pcb headers on the card.

Yes, tried already. My adventure: Totally uninstalled the nvidia drivers with DDU, afterwards run ccleaner and cleaned the registry and tried 5 versions of the driver and yes every time I've checked the clean installation option. Removed the XOC and tried 6.0.1 thru 6.0.9 run ccleaner between every uninstall/install, On some versions of XOC the tab is active but the selection button inactive. I tried the nvidia LED visualizer and the LED illumination is OK except coloring options of course. So I don't think it's a cable problem. The LEDs are flashing, breathing etc. with nvidia LED visualizer. Just one thing left to try: installing a new operating system which is too far for a problem like this. I will try with the new operating system and if the LEDs doesn't work after that, be ready EVGA, I am coming at ya! :D

I had the problem with not being able to click on the led tab with bios aND driver update. It's a RMA with the support ticket. Sucks have to pay for shipping and wait so long for one small stupid issue...

I received my advanced replacement and it has led issue, one very bright green LED near first fan that doesn't shift colour well. Ruins all the colours that use green led. Not happy.

I just got my 1070 ftws in sli and im upset that the led will not switch to white like the top one. It just goes blank if i select white and apply it. The e in evga seems brighter than the other leds as well.
