I have an EVGA GTX 1050 2 Gb, an Intel Pentium G620 2.6 Ghz ( upgrade on the way ) and 6 Gb of RAM running Windows 10 64 bit, and a 500w EVGA bronze certified PSU, but for some when running games or benchmarks that use 100% GPU Load, my GPU load and TDP are constantly dropping between 40 and 100%, causing massive FPS drops/stuttering. Just did a clean install of the latest NVIDIA drivers and I've tried going back to stock clocks as well. GPUz perfcap reason is constantly switching between VRel and Idle. Anyone else have this problem before?

Ran the Fire Strike Stress Test for 10 minutes with core underclocked -200 Mhz and memory underclocked - 500 Mhz and the stuttering became much less.

Max GPU Temp was 66 C, max CPU temp was 64 C.Those dips in my GPU load are when the stutters occur. Ran it again at stock clocks and the stuttering was much, much worse, with the GPU Power constantly jumping between 50 and 100%. Will post a screenshot when I get home. Ran the same stress test again at stock clocks and this is what I get:

Any help would be appreciated.

Often when you see GPU load drop, GPU power drop, and GPU idle, it doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with the GPU. Often it means that your CPU is lagging behind and that is what is causing the stutter. The GPU load drops because it runs out of work to do while it waits for the CPU to feed it more data to crunch. Overclock your CPU or upgrade your CPU; that is my recommendation.

Ah, I see. Well my i5-2500 should be delivered tomorrow, so I'll test again and see if that solves it.

Decided to clean out the heatsink and fans on my CPU and Graphics card, also reseated the card, one of those two seems to have solved the problem.

65C for a CPU is fairly warm, so my guess would be that cleaning out the heatsink allowed the CPU to run at full speed longer. This would help if the CPU is in fact causing the stuttering you're experiencing, so I'm glad to hear you were able to find the cause of the problem.
