Hi, I'm just trying to figure out how to get my Z20 Keyboard to function properly with Ubuntu MATE.
It's default drivers for keyboards only goes so far before they kick off entirely.  It will not register some keystrokes, treat others like they're being held down, until it stops working all together.
What can I do to get this keyboard to at least minimum function? I don't care about Macro keys or RGB, as it's for my work computer.
Thank you for any help you can give me!

I did, but it's in Windows format. They officially do not have Linux drivers for it, so I'm trying to find some way to make it work with Ubuntu.

You could try contacting EVGA to see if there is anything they can do to help you out >  https://www.evga.com/about/contactus/

I'm waiting for a response from them now. Though given their statement on Linux drivers, I think it'll come back saying the same for the keyboard.
I'm worried this is going to require modification to either Ubuntu or the Windows driver.

Doesn't sound promising.  Post back with any news.  Might help someone else out down the road.

It's been a few days, and unfortunately, still no reply.
I will post again when/if they do get back to me, but I'm not holding my breath at this point.

Found in Thread:  Z20 on Linux

Are there any tools out there that would allow me to configure/manage the Z20 on linux? Most particularly Manjaro.

Unfortunately Unleash RGB software to configure both the keyboards and mice are only supported on the Windows platform.

TRY this?  Use a Windows PC to run EVGA software & update the firmware on your KB - then try on your Linux machine - see if it will function as a basic KB ?

So I actually did try the firmware update for the keyboard on a Windows PC to start, then switched over to the Linux PC to test it (It's plugged into a KVM, but even a direct line has the same result) and still got the weird hangups. I am going to reach out to the Ubuntu community though, to figure out how I can write some kind of driver to make it work on basic functions. The basic use is where I was having the trouble anyway; not recognizing some keystrokes, registering a key as being held down, etc.

But thank you for the tip on checking with the support community, I'll make sure to report any findings, in case other people have the same issue in the future.

So far, I have managed to get in contact with someone. I've requested the control codes for the keyboard, since it appears I'll have to write a driver myself.
So now I'll be learning how to not only reverse engineer the Windows driver, but write a Linux compatible driver for it.
Full disclosure, I have Zero idea how to do this, so it'll take a while for me to figure out, and actually produce a result.
But if/when I do, I'll make sure to post about it here again, and find a way to upload it for others to access.

Thank you again for helping me!

EDIT: I finally heard back from EVGA support, but it doesn't look good.
I asked them for some data about the software, and their final answer was, they are not allowed to say anything more than, EVGA does not support Linux, and they do not release the API or source code for the software.
So it comes down to reverse engineering the software myself.

    Wish me luck!

Without the code we have seen people get a lot of hardware to work so it depends on how much effort is put in but it can be done.

Use an Associates Code & SAVE 5% - 10% on your purchase. Just click on the associates banner to save, or enter the associates code at checkout on your next purchase. If you choose to use my code I want to personally say "Thank You" for using it.
