We have reports from several peeps on over 100k+ PPD. .... You should use the latest >=13.1 drivers on Core17 (it will use 99% of the GPU)

Xavier Zepherious yeah ....my 570 barely gets a bounce but it sure worked wonders for 600 series Unless things change, I'm a little disappointed. The Fermis have, up to now, always out-computed the keplers. I thought the 2X increase was across the board on nvidia cards. One thing that might be an issue is that one of my rigs kind of locked up when trying to update to the new core. After a restart everything seemed fine until the unchanged TPF from the old core 17. Is it possible that the rig is still running the old core?

The new core should have a date of 5/6/13 I'm pretty sure there was a forced update to comply with the new 17 core.project 7663. Mine auto updated.

Fermi only gets a ~5% increase in speed from openMM 5.1, kepler gets almost 100%, while GCN (AMD 7xxx) gets ~75% (all compared to the previous core_17 which was based on openMM 5.0). Fermi's reign has come to an end...

must be nice having a couple of 7970's right now Im up to 300k PPD (will be more once I get my WC loop up)..so it does help a bit - just not against you wrinvert Just trying to figure on either 7970's or titans...Im just not partial to AMD for my next purchase.. I think I'll bet on the titans because of what Vijay said about making a cuda core as well (and it will be better than opencl)

your comparing cuda with opencl like apples and oranges and your comparing v2.22 against v2.25 (and you aren't getting 2.22 back) we 're gonna have to live with opencl for awhile (and maybe get Nvidia to do some OpenCL fixes) as Vijay said they plan to do a Cuda core once Nvidia releases a JIT compiler

Just saying there was a core that played nice with Fermi, but not so well with others. Some might say the same applies here with this new core. Nope I wasn't comparing 2.22 to 2.25 I was comparing 2.22 to Zeta.

there is still more optimizations coming for opencl- and proteneer said "more speed coming" so it will get better and we need to really pressure NVidia to get some stuff done .. ie opencl 1.2 implementation (they are on 1.1) Cuda JIT compiler let alone any fixes for opencl

This same rig, no less powerful than it once was, did cpu+gpu+gpu for 100 to 115K PPD where as now it does 77k PPD at best and does the same work if not more. So are we really moving forward? It would seem not setting in my chair looking at the stats. But I'm sure its looking much better for others that only GPU fold. I do agree we will just have to wait it out to see how things improve, here's to hoping for the best for all folding types in the near future.

I am a GPU folder and it is about the same on my fermis as the old core 17. Little change but a big change for Kepler. I have not run an ATI in years but if Nvidia does not improve their drivers then I am looking at giving them a try. The 7970 vs the 680 and the 7970 is A LOT LESS $.

this is just another "tide" of F@H. like I said in another thread I remember doing bigadv on my 920 and getting 60-70kppd, it now gets 15k smp. then for awhile you needed 4P for big points. now GPU farms are catching up. having alittle of each in my farm has keep me balanced over the last 4years. based on what I have now costs/ppds are kind-of balancing out. some really rough numbers: $399 7970 getting 105k 150watt draw $450 680 getting 85k 160 watt draw $600(roughly) 4P 110-170k 325 watt draw $650 3770k smp getting 35k 200 watt draw
