This is something that should be in native to Windows. You know what else should be native to Windows? Allowing users to completely remove install software when they supposedly uninstall it. None of this partly uninstall what was installed which has become the norm these days with software.

Symbolic links are natively supported by NTFS. Everyone should learn command prompt. It's easy to make your own with the MKLINK command. I've been using symlinks for years now. They are very powerful and have good use cases in addition to relocating program directories. I wanted to move my system backups to a different drive with a larger capacity - rather than re-configure the backup software, simply create a symlink from the original location to the new location on the other drive with one command. The beauty of symlinks is they work at the filesystem level, and therefore applications don't need any special requirements to use them, unlike shortcuts (don't confuse them they are not the same!).

You can even make a symlink with network shares:
    mklink /d "C:\Users\Name\Desktop\MyNAS" "\\192.168.1.x\Storage"

I 100% agree with this. I remember my first SSD and having very limited space on my C: Drive and a lot of rude programs wanting to just install without asking me where.
