Hi all! Just looking for some advice on my setup. I have just installed my first AIO (Corsair H80i V2) and the manual suggested that I set the fans to blow into the case, so I did! Does this really make sense? I have attached a pic of my system any advice is appericated. I also have another 120mm fan I can install anywhere that could be helpful. Thanks in advance for any help!

"Usually" anything above the middle should blow out. Anything below the middle should blow in. PSU's don't count in this case (they take air from the back and blow it out the bottom). The way you have it will keep the processor cooler because it will be taking cooler air from outside the case, but the rest of the case will be warmer. It also increases the pressure (only a slight amount) within the case which can make the inside of the case warmer (similar to a pressure cooker). If you flip it, the case will be cooler inside, but the processor will increase in temp. This will also balance the pressure closer to equal. Actual numbers can vary because of case, fans, etc. In all actuality, it probably doesn't matter. The increase in pressure and temps would be small (2-4 degrees at most) and wouldn't do any damage to your rig.

Cant see your pics but I have that cooler and my fans are blowing the air out. My cpu temp for 5930k are 35c idle and 50c load at 4.5ghz. My video cards also exhaust the hot air out. If you have video cards that dump hot air into the case it might make more sense to have cool air from outside blowing into the cooler.

I can see your pic now. I would change the 2 fans on the right to blow out since your card does not exhaust.

Okay, if I flip the 2 front fans should I add the extra 120mm fan to the top or bottom blowing out?

A fan blowing in from bottom may help some but I would try without first.

My setup is radiator inboard (closest to the CPU), fan pulling out. If you use a PWM radiator fan (I use a EK Waterblocks Vardar) it will work well. This makes it easier to dust off the rad. No serious performance gains with it being near the wall of the case.

The manual suggests for the fan to blow in because that leads to the coolest temperatures. Because it is drawing fresh air from outside the case. However, given your setup, and fan locations, i'd change it to exhaust out of the case. To be fair, your temps may rise a couple degrees, but are you one of those people that is rendering stuff all day? My bet is you are a gamer. CPU's are pretty resilient, especially under water, I've been using an AIO on the same CPU for about 5 years now with no paste change lol... GPU's are the real killers when temps come to line because they throttle down much easier during games if things get toasty. Pulling air into your case thru a hot radiator is putting more hot air into your case for your card take in. This leads to GPU throttling. Maybe it's personal preference, but I'd just toss that manual in the trash. ;)

Okay so I still have the extra fan and was thinking for installing it as an exhaust since I now have a blower style GPU.

I agree with dwoodword. I would exhaust the air out of case (rear). Second I would add the fan to top of case exhausting out (heat rises) .

+2 agreed. I would switch the rear fan to exhaust, leave the 2 front as intake, and add the last fan to exhaust at the top. This gives you cool air coming straight in to the video card since it's not a blower card and the top fan in front still will get air over to the radiator. Might be nice to look at some temp readings before and after as well... With front and back blowing in like it is now I would think hot air might get trapped and re-circulate around the video card.
