I hope this isn't a dumb question. How would you go about making an entire set of new  PSU cables? I'm just wondering if you could make GPU cables without having the short six pin cable coming off the 8 pin cable. Would look cleaner if they were separate. Or if you have any pics of GPU cables could you post them?

Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit.

Id be interested in learning how to make a PSU cable from scratch. Would you use all female connectors in a female housing and male for male housing?

Couldnt find much information online, most were just poking the cables out and throwing sleeves on them...

ASUS P6T Deluxe v2 | Intel Core i7 920 d0 @ 3.6ghz | (2x) EVGA GTX 470 SLI @ 712/1425/1701
(2x) Corsair Dominator 3x2GB 1600mhz | Corsair AX1200 | Corsair 800d Full Tower
Western Digital Caviar Black 500GB SATA 3.0GB/s
EK-HF Supreme Full Copper CPU Block | EK-FC470 Acetal & Copper Graphics Block
FrozenQ Liquid Fusion V Series 250mm Red | MCP655 Vario with EK-D5 X-Top v2 | Black Ice SR1 480mm Bitspower Compression Fittings

for creating your own cable set, i would say look at your actual PSU to determine if u need male or female pins/connectors on each end.  and dont forget to measure how long you actually need the cable.  if the gpu connector is only 6 inches from the PSU, dont make a foot long cable for it...  this guide explains perfectly how to build them.  the only change will be the type of connectors.  I dont know if all modular cables use male pins on both ends or all female pins on both ends, so just look at your PSU to see what you need to plug into it.

So the one thing I can't seem to find any reference to... is it difficult to get the pins into the housing? Any special trick for that?

its easy to get the pins into the housing, you literally just push them into the housing until you hear a click and then your done

Outstanding, I was just a bit curious about that part since they're a bit of a pain in the tushy to get out of the housing to begin with.

That seriously looks like a lot of work, but the end result is way worth it! Love that pro look!

Apologies for reviving an old thread, but am I the only one that cannot see the photos of either thread cabling thread?
