Screen goes black, fans rev high, then need to do a hard reset. Crashes occurred mostly while gaming but seemingly at completely random intervals. Could be two minutes or two hours into a game.
Build: Dark Kingpin z790 MB, i9 14900KS, 4090 FE, 1000w PSU

Does this issue follow the card when testing it in another known good working system? If yes, rma the card with nvidia.

Fortunately, I had a Micro Center nearby to test the card on a bench, and the results came back all good. However, I’ve been experiencing issues with NVIDIA applications on my PC. I frequently have to reinstall the app and drivers due to not being able to open the application. I even tried using recovery to perform a clean Windows installation, but occasional blue screens still persist.

How long have you owned your 14900KS, and have you overclocked it any?

Assuming it's not a 14th gen degradation issue, have you tried using DDU to remove the drivers and clean install them?  (make sure to run it as Admin or I've found it misses stuff)  I had a problem a while back with black screens on my 4090 but that was just a bad Nvidia driver, like the actual driver was being reported on Nvidia forums by a number of people as having the problem.  That was around a year ago though and more recent ones have been good.  I haven't tried the latest one or the hotfix one though.  I'm still on the November one that supported MSFS 2024 release.

I would try  DDU with an older driver only install, is there any reason you need the APP?
I am on 566.14 and its very stable to me , with a 13900k that's been locked 5.6 all core for over 2 years.

I’ve had my CPU for just under a year. I used DDU to uninstall the drivers and reinstalled an older version. Since the control center provides everything I need, I decided to uninstall the app. Thanks for the help! So far, I’ve been able to enjoy a gaming session lasting over an hour!
