NO, not going to cause an issue ... the fact that you added them over the
inductor coils, as long as GPU die contact is good
the pads should be used IMO as EVGA had thermal putty in that location (see coil whine below)
Installing the FTW3 water block with fun tips - look this thread over, some Great Photos
Always follow the instructions / design of the GPU's OEM when it comes to cooling & thermal transfer materials placement
-
there is a reason they are there, even if it is just to help control noise (coil whine) Everything you need to know about coil whine(excerpt)
"Coil whine and water blocks
Putting thermal pads over the inductor coils and pressing them down via water block could potentially lessen the vibration which is why EK includes thermal pads with their EK Vector series water blocks which are to be applied to inductor coils of NVIDIA® RTX® cards. Unfortunately, when removing stock air coolers from GPUs users are also removing the sources of noise pollution and in these cases, GPU cards with more prominent coil whines become even more annoying."

I'd love to read the Optimus's logic on that call & also see the data that backs it up; especially coil whine issues
Just because you can run without them (after your warranty is up) ..... does not mean you should run without them
Most run water block to have a cooler & quieter Rig ..... you would be more likely to hear coil whine without the cooling fans or that thermal material on the gpu
