How can I differentiate between coil whine and something more serious? I have a EVGA 800GE (didn't read too much into it to find out it's non modular), and it seems to make a slight buzzing noise.

Usually coil whine noise can be altered by changing the load of the system. e.g. Putting a load on a gpu could cause it to whine, but then under a no load condition you can’t hear any whine.

It will also typically change when the card is overclocked vs at the factory clock or underclocked.
