I have the same CPU and started experiencing higher temps end of last year/early this year. It got to the point where i was constantly reaching the Tjmax of 90 celsius.
Finally after having to wait for a few things to arrive and some health problems past, did a deep clean and maintenance installing a few other things aswell.
The temperature didn't change whatsoever, then finally noticed that it was my AIO (EK Elite 360 Aurum), it actually died somehow, the pump unit was extremely hot (i knew immediately it's simply not transferring the heat with the coolant). It still outputs RPM numbers, but simply does not transfer heat. So another week later i managed to confirm with installing a very cheap aircooler i had laying around that it's indeed that. With the aircooler the temperatures were back in the acceptable range of 35 to 70ish celsius (idle to load).
 
That being said, previous when the EK AIO worked perfectly fine, it was very rare for me to see anywhere north of 60 celsius, it's very likely your new mobo BIOS is the culprit and you shouldn't need to (nor does it make sense) try and FURTHER mitigate that with having to change your cooling. I would roll back to the BIOS where it was not high temperatures, or perhaps if possible find what did the BIOS change, maybe it changed a voltage that you can lower back and have it back to "normal".
If you must/or want to change cooling anyway, i suggest an Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360.
