hi just wondering a question if i was to get a gen5 ssd and use a pcie adaptor to install it through the second pcie slot on the motherboard which runs at x8 would that make my graphics card run at x8 also? 

also does anyone know if evga will be releasing a z790? and will that come with m2 gen 5 slots ?

    Also curious about this. I picked up a Dark Z690 and have my Asus hyper m.2 PCIE 5.0 card for the other x16 slot, will EVGA support use of these to get x8 5.0 GPU and x4 PCIE 5.0 nvme through the other slot?

    If both PCI-E Gen5 x16 slots are populated, yes they will both run at x8.
     
    As for the Z790 boards, nobody knows yet because EVGA never talks about specs of their upcoming products until they're officially released.
