To Everyone, be "leery" of MS UPDATE, I installed it last night it totally bricked my computer, messed with Security Kernal BIOS to Windows 11 Pro, could not get into Windows, recovery, repair, reset, safe mode, etc. For me the update disabled my secure boot keys, in BIOS, turning them back on did not work, & somehow my BIOS also claimed I just tried overclockling, which I did not do! I had a SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS SSD M.2 1TB, with my Windows 11 Pro OS already installed on it, as a backup, it is what I am currently using now. The Update is optional. Not required, no security fixes. I know better too, as a rule those kind of updates I usually not download for 30 days, because as everyone knows, MS Updates seem to be always made with bugs. Let the pros find out first. ty_ger07 The brick still works?
Luckily he has a back up drive. It goes to show the importance of keeping updates since it means not much is lost after an update.

Hey everyone you not know the half of it, my Windows 11 pro is from a original Windows 10 Pro, dated 2016, not enough files to install from that USB, no internet possible, no Wifi drivers, etc. I clueless why it did it, after I installed the update I turned off my PC, just making sure some fan connections were ok. I reconnected everything, including the ethernet. Turned it on, it immediately went BSOD windows, blue screen not black, showing security Kernal error, I went into BIOS, it said I attempted a OC & my keys for the 980 Pro SSD were disabled. I did not do anything in BIOS. Somehow it also wiped my local password for my PC. I learned long ago, every time I do a MS update I set a new restore point first, I had a list of 8 restore points, it would not restore on a single point, no safe mode no anything. Not repair anything. Anyway all is ok. I also have a Samsung EVO PLUS 870, with Windows 10 Pro on it as well. Just in case. Also have a older PC with windows 10 on it, just not want to drag it out. Going to create a new disk image for Windows 11 Pro, before I attempt to reinstall it back onto my Samsung 980 Pro M.2 SSD, using this drive, at least it is ok.

Doing the clean install is the best thing to do at this point - then burn a image after you get it all setup with all updates, then after you install all your software burn another image. Use removable drive to hold your image for best protection & update with a new image from time to time. An image of a working system is a quick fix when disaster strikes
