Got to admit, I was a bit put off with the more "Arcadey" approach they put out there.  But once you accept this isn't just Doom 2016 II and play it on its terms .... well its a piñata of gore and ammo.

Probably start TOG here soon but Spiderman drops tomorrow so ....

I wouldn't mind a side series that continues on with the Doom 3 feel.

    Guess that's maybe Deadspace.

Honestly I kind of would also like a Doom 3 style doom game made for the ground up for PCVR. I was playing the DOOM 3 VR port and I thought it was a lot better then I remember and the limited enemies on screen did help I feel.

I wish there were more games ala Half Life Alex and Doom 3 VR to make me actually pony up and buy a VR rig.

then again, I would wait til the next gen (non Oculus) kits come out.

I was very put off with all the Olympics jumping. I only made it a few hours before I quit. I would love to see a Doom with Doom 3 and 2016 mixed.  Heck, I'd even be really happy if a remastered Doom 3 was made. I did enjoy how 2016 went back to what felt like endless monsters, but the fake arenas felt awkward.

I would agree that more great VR games are needed but at least Oculus/Meta this month made it so you do not need to have a Facebook account anymore tied to it. The real thing though that I like about VR is I can be mobile and playing games standing up and moving around and seriously the boxing game Thrill of the Fight has been great for a cardio workout of shadow boxing because I am moving around dodging punches and throwing them. On a flat screen it wouldn't nearly be as fun for a game like that. I am not sure I see VR as it is now doing a good job of trying to be like PC gaming even though Half Life Alyx is amazing looking to see a headcrab with the body that looks like it's the size of a football with legs jumping at your face. I instead see VR being games like miniature golf that really kind of feels like you are playing miniature golf.

As for Doom Eternal though I kind of like it for the fast motion and jumping around. It really kind of reminds me of the original DOOM and games like Serious Sam.
