As the title says, is evga.com.de a fake website. Bought a RTX 3070 from that site through PayPal a few days ago with worldwide shipping and now I'm thinking its a fake website. Any ideas.

The official website for Germany is https://de.evga.com/. Get PayPal to get your money back. You can find the official website if you scroll down on the main webpage. There is a drop down menu to choose your country.

The best way to make sure you are at the correct EVGA site for your region would be to go to EVGA - About Us - Contact Us and click on the "Create an account on EVGA.com" for the country you are in. If you click that link you can always click on the EVGA logo if you do not want to sign up to go to the main EVGA page.

We've been aware of this site for a while, but it doesn't mean that the relevant authorities can take it down overnight, unfortunately. One of the tech sites even linked this website mistakenly a while back to showcase all of the "deals" available until we reached out to them to let them know they just linked all their readers to a fraudulent site....

Here's an update on the scam. They (the scammers) then claimed I was the seller, not only had they taken $529.99 they then put in a claim with paypal for $509.02. Don't know how they did this and neither does paypal. However paypal cancelled their claim and now I'm just waiting for my refund. So that's why the scammers used paypal, they may have been able to hack paypal to make it look like a buyer was the seller.

Unfortunately, I fell for the sight- used PayPal - and they found a way to contest the purchase for two dollars as if it came from my account. I assumed they hacked me, but somehow apparently you can start a contest with just the transaction ID if you are fraudulent enough.
I was on the phone with PayPal for three hours and they said there is no record of anyone signing in - but they assume that I contested the charge for only two dollars versus the full charge.
After many hours they updated the information to be for the full charge and are waiting for the sight to respond with shipping details before looking to refund me.
This likely will be a fun two weeks of effort with a Chance of winning or losing.
