The fan controller I had didn't list specs so the motor is 4.5 amps at 110V=500Watts
So I ordered a controller for the blower motor with 1500W Specs.
Amazon wanted $40cdn plus taxes so I snagged one from Aliexpress
I just need to be careful not to turn the blower down too low.

I had never heard of these.  My PC room is in my basement and is dusty as hell. Thanks for the heads up!

It is backordered through this contact so try one of the many others on Aliexpress. I will be using it to control an old furnace blower motor that has lots of oiling points. Just be careful not to run the motor to slow cause it will cause it to burn out..

The truth is, for an actual "air filter" you would need HEPA filters of MERV-9 or above to actually filter out harmful particulates that decent air purifiers do. If not, you're basically filtering out larger pieces of material, like dust, so it wouldn't do much in terms of "purification". That said, HEPA anything for a computer media filter would absolutely wallop your cooling performance. Unless you're running 8-10 200+CFM fans at 100%, I wouldn't even confider this. I would just get a good air purifier and decent fan filters to protect the interior of ur case.

The 'real secret' is to have a large enough hermetically space, with (massive or partially exposed) heat sink, for heat to diffuse efficiently. Put the tower in that and you are good to go.
