Just askin
Since I have a whole bunch running and IMO I don't think the demcifliters are doing a great job keeping the fans clean.
I was wondering if anyone had a supply for thin cheap filter material I could use under the Demci filters.

If your case has good dust filters then your fans shouldn't be getting dusty. A good vacuum cleaning from time to time is about all you can do really.

Fine screens with a magnetic frame.
    https://www.demcifilter.com/
Better than conventional mesh computer filters but I would like something better, to combine with the mesh.
I was moving some gpu's around and noticed the slight buildup and wanted to prevent bearing failure..or postpone it.
Vacuuming them would increase the risk of damaging them and really isn't stopping the dust from getting to the bearings.

I would like to test some out and see if I can put it directly under the ones I have. Now that have said it maybe it should be taped on the outsìde of what I already use..Not sure!

So I was talking to some friends/acquaintances in HVAC supplies locally looking for this filter material...when I suddenly had an idea in the back of my head
(Never know what you find back there but it often pays to listen to it when it speaks)
    Landscaping fabric!
Which I happen to have lots of...
    Hmmm
Combine it with the Demciflex filters I am running...Can't hurt!
Let you know how it goes

Just make sure whatever you use doesn't kill airflow. No, I haven't figured out how to turn my PC into a room air filter. Maybe, a whole room air filter may work better in concert with your Demi filters.... Mine are definitely dust magnets.

    Agree with notfordman here.
You are much better off cleaning the room air separately. In the hvac field I find tons of calls to be nuisance calls with these merv +++ air filters. Some act like a sheet of cardboard causing freeze ups and damaging equipment.
Filter the air in the room better. You can bungee cord a 20x20 filter to a box fan that circulates room air. No need to get fancy if a solution is all you need.

STR1D3R_2 I was thinking that too then I saw the price of room air purifiers...
With the cost of them and the extra electricity I thought... make use of the computers own  air movement.
I have closed all the windows in the basement..that should help (each was open a couple of inches)
I have a fan pushing air directly into the return air and I have two large fans at opposite ends of the basement pushing all air towards the return.
I have a little static clingy duster that I could try and clean up the blades...
It isn't allot of dust just the fine stuff that gets by the Demciflex filters..
I have an old furnace motor and squirrel cage that I guess I could adapt but I would need to reduce it's speed...it is a whole house blower off a really old furnace.
    Off Topic..
My 03 Dodge, which I bought new for my 50th birthday, suddenly has a mysterious crack in the dash on the passenger side.
I have gone the extra miles needed to keep it safe...literally walking them ...to keep it from getting door dings etc
131000kms fully loaded 3500 SRW Quad Cab Laramie 5.9 Cummins HO
Can't get my head wrapped around WHY!

Same here. My cats, dog, kids and wife are off limits. I have to walk through a secret door behind the shower to get in and then put on my eye protection for the UV lights. It's a drag when I miss a bid on flee bay. but at least my fans are clean lmao

Use two non fiberglass ones on a box fan and you can even dehydrate food between the two filters! (Not joking)

Sorry, won't work as all it will do is blow the dust around the room.  Since OP is folding, they are probably running 24/7 and need to remove the particulates not move them around.

I like the filtered box fan suggestion.

Take the machine outside, blow the dusty bits outside, bring back in. Or, in general, just get a room air purifier. It will cut down on dusting of the other furniture in the room as well.

I can't put anything under the Demciflex filters because the magnets aren't strong enough...but I will be draping landscape cloth over the intakes..
I also think I will be able to create an industrial strenght air purifier from the furnace blower (Tim Allen grunt & growl 🤣)
Just need to get a variable speed controlled switch...motor rated.

Landscape fabric will probably be too restrictive ... your temps will tell you

    look for air filter material
    https://www.lowes.com/sea...rm=air+filter+material
     look at these:

Frost King 13.5-in x 24-in x 0.031-in Washable Cut To Fit Air Filter

Frost King 15-in x 24-in x 0.1875-in Washable Cut To Fit Air Filter

This type of spray product, can help "cheap filters" hold more dust (just an example, not an endorsement for this brand)
    Filter Charger Spray

Use This Air Filter Spray Adhesive to Convert a Regular Air Filter to an Electrostatic Filter

    In my mind...dangerous place...
I am thinking if the filter material is conventional filter material and close to the fans it will put more of a strain on the bearings making them pull harder and wear out faster...
The fans aren't designed for that type of operation 24/7
( I have sent one of my gpu's in for just this problem and it was up very close to the wall of the case. There were slots in the case but there was also solid steel blocking some of the fan. So that could have been my fault. This was my first mining case and had been running the longest, I relocated the gpu's in the other enclosure and they appeared to be working fine)
I am going to focus on the room size filter to start with...
If you look at the landscaping fabric it is actually quite porous and I won't be attaching it under the Demciflex filters but more over top hanging down like the side of a table cloth.
    Thanks for the info Jim
Next time I am down at Lowe's, we have them up here, I will check it out.

As far as the magnets have you thought/are you able to remove the magnets and attach news to secure the new outer lining you are trying to attempt?  This way you could potentially alter the filters to suit your needs a little bit better and provide more options to you.

I shop there...but their search engine just SUCKS
Had custom size feet made for the mining cases..
The small things you pay $10-$20 locally can be had for $3-$5 including shipping.
    Good place to rummage around
