Haven't seen confirmation but rumor was all of the 30 series cards were getting re-released with a rate limiter

As of right now, the only card on the market with a limiter is the 3060, which can be bypassed but is a pain and requires a specific dev driver. There are rumors of having limited SKUs of 3060-80, and we'll see what the 80 Ti looks like at launch.

If there is some kind of limiter put on newly-sold already existing GPU SKUs, then I'd imagine it would be possible to use an older bios to avoid the limiter. Obviously this isn't guaranteed, we'd have to see how things work out there

Current cards should be perfectly fine. However, there's plenty of leaks about revised chips for all 30 series that will include ReBAR, but also hash limiters. The 3090 may escape limiting (probably due to MSRP?) https://videocardz.com/ne...begin-shipping-mid-may

Hardware/software limiters will indeed be added to newly produced 30 series cards, and I hope they add the new limiters to all the new cards here on out whether that be software or hardware. Wish there was just completely separate products for miners so we don't have such a massive interest from them.

I think sooner or later the LHR thing will be cracked anyway. It’s just a matter of time. I think only thing that actually works is the 3060 with a full 8x or 16x lane requirement.

Yeah, people who are buy several cards for mining farms are not going to be stopped by a limiter. They'd need to physically change the hardware.
