with a new 3080ti I am hoping for solid 144fps in 1440p, 1080ti does not quite get it
i agree %100 i loved this card but i was also spoiled when it came out and just walked up and grabbed it from the shelf.

Ive been in queue 7 months for a 3080. My evga 1080 sc acx has been a beast of a card though, longest time ever Ive hung onto a card

If all you can get your hands on is a 3070, then grab one. If you have the option and the budget I would for sure go 3080.

My 1080 doesn't seem to struggle with 1440p with 60-144fps on high. Depends on what you're looking to play a lot of the time.

i went from 1080 to 3070 and there is a visible change. did you bought something at the end? buy a new gpu, don't go with 2080 or 2080ti, go with 3070 imho

The actual EVGA website does not but you can kind of get a feel for it via an Excel spreadsheet that someone created on these forums.

Honestly me and all my friends are under the impression that a 3070 (or above) is good enough to replace a 1080ti, so yeah i think you should be looking for a 3070 or above. 3080 is just way way better than a 1080 though so.

If you want to upgrade the GPU, try the high-end card such as 3070 or 3080 as only the budget is allowed. This way it can save you lots of wasting time.

As others have mentioned, the new cards are particularly better at higher resolution gameplay. The 1080 was a beast of a GPU that at this point is still very solid at 1080p.

well my 1080 ti still hangs with the big boys at 100 frames at 1440, but still not up to the 144 that my monitor can handle. Guess my best bet at the moment would be a 3070 ti and maybe off load my 1080ti on the second hand market for a good chuck of change.

You're right, but I think the 3080 Ti isn't that much of a step up from the 3080 if you consider the pricing. I think the 3070 Ti could be a better bargain (GDDR6X and all) if you can get one at launch for close to MSRP (good luck, fellow gamer). Of course, if money isn't an issue, then 3080/3080 Ti are better options.

Your GPU looks pretty good compared to me. I have 2GB GPU RAM and can barely play some better games. I think you need some modern GPU if you want your upgrade to be meaningful. Those 3070 or 3070Ti are good choice.

If you can afford to hold out a while longer (maybe 10 months to 2 years) I would. This crisis isn’t looking to end anytime soon or you could just build up post counts and get elite for the launch coming in a few days.

I would go for a 3080 minimum, and that is the sweet spot for price/performance increase. The 3080Ti will net you an extra 10 to 15% above a 3080, but it's at a significant cost.
