Anyone run into issues with the z590 w/m.2 running a 10900k?

I can't get the nu audio drivers to install properly.  It doesn't recognize the card is installed.  I have moved it around from the X4 to the X16-2 and 3.

I assume it is because of the extremely limited 20 pcie lanes....  Wishing I had researched that before purchasing this chipset and CPU combo.

Thank you.

What z590 do you have? Evga's aren't released yet. Also, 10900k only has 16x pci-e lanes. The rest have to go through the chipset. If you have too many, you may have to reduce your first slot to x8 to get the rest of the slots to work right. Its configs are: "Up to 1x16, 2x8, 1x8+2x4" according to Intel.

6Q6CPFHPBPCU691 is a discount code anyone can use.

Sorry, long time EVGA forum member. And I probably should have put this under the Nu audio board.

Long story short.... Had kids and have finally put together a new system after a long hiatus. It’s an Asus z590-A board. But I have not gotten on their forums yet. 10900k has 20lanes but 4 are dedicated to m.2. From everything I’ve read 16_3 should share pch/dmi with m.2_3 so it should work, but the OS doesn’t recognize the card being installed. I’m not too worried about, just wondering if anyone else has seen this?

I’ve read all the data from Intel and anything I could find from Asus. And was fully expecting 16_1 to run at X8, no big deal, I’m not running a current gen GPU. Device manager shows multiple PCIE errors.

Did you try multiple PCI-E slots (more than one)?

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

Actually 10th gen LGA 1200 Intel CPUs don't have 20 lanes technically. They have 16 lanes linked to the PCIe slots and then they have a 4x DMI 3.0 interface between the chipset and CPU which is equivalent to PCIe gen 3.0 4x link. 10th gen LGA 1200 CPUs don't have any lanes directly to the M.2 slot from the CPU. It's only the 11th gen Intel CPUs that have 20 lanes coming from the CPU that offer a direct 4x link to the primary M.2 slot.

That is correct. Somewhere I read 10th gen had 20 and 11th 24. I’m Not sure if I was adding the dmi 3.0 equivalent of pcie x4 or not. But anyways....

Yes, all slots were tested as originally stated. And I’ve tried just about every setting under dmi/pch in an attempt to get it working.

I’m pretty sure it is a bios issue. Something about the card being of USB interface converted to pcie.....

Maybe I’ll pick up a cheap 11th gen to rule out a CPU incompatibility with the chipset....

For the most part I don’t want to go through the hassle, picking up a reasonably priced desktop DAC/amp is a viable workaround.

Moved you over to the Nu Audio Forum as this is dealing with an EVGA motherboard.

Since it hasn't been asked, do you have the SATA power connector plugged into the audio card?

Contact support, could be a faulty unit.
