Having 3090 FTW3 Ultra with Seasonic Prime PX 850W and coil whine is high, basically same as Strix 3080, which is terrible. What is your experience guys, any use in trying the card on other PSU? I tested a few 3080/3090 and coil whine appeared everywhere. Is this just another 30 series kind of thing? Curious to hear experience of other users. PS. Mostly noticable in high refresh moments like menus of BFV, Witcher 3, but also in casual gaming on 165Hz (FPS limited to 165) display. Another psu may help. Just have to try it and see.

I never keep cards that have bad coil whine. For an ~1,700 dollar card, it needs to be as close to perfect as possible.

No coil whine on my 3090 FTW Ultra.
Then again, I've not had coil whine in any card (6 total, mostly EVGA, 900, 10, and 20 series) since I replaced an old UPS with an active PFC compatible, pure sine wave one and went with a very high quality, high wattage PSU.
Someone else had bad coil whine on their 3090 FTW Ultra on this forum. Them getting a pure sine wave UPS cut the noise by about 30%, but the total fix was when they got a better quality, higher capacity PSU.

Well, so I guess all I could do to fix it possibly, is to get another PSU. Not really sold on this idea, but would Seasonic Prime Platinum be really that bad choice to have such issue in the first place? Or is it a total lottery?

Every once in a while I hear some extremely quiet coil whine when in a loading screen or something. I have a 3090 FTW3 Ultra and my PSU is a EVGA 1300g from 2013

I have heard no coil whine on my 3090 FTW3 Ultra. My last card a gigabyte 2070 Super Gaming OC 3X White had coil whine but during certain tasks. The most noticeable it was ever was when I ran 3DMark Ray tracing benchmark. That was pretty much the only time it was loud enough to hear it. I freaked out when I first heard and thought my card was ruined and about to die. After searching online and reading about apparently it's not that serious a problem. I'm not even sure if all companies will approved RMA just for coil whine. I've never tried, it's just what I read when learning about it online.
I've run my 3090 FTW3 Ultra through all the benchmarks 3DMark has and heard nothing out of the ordinary.

I actually did some quick testing and the whole Battlefield V game seem to be coil whine crazy on my 3090. Menu, game, it doesn't matter. Other games I play like Warzone, RDR2, Horizon and card is not audible. What's wrong with that game?
