My video card buzzes and it really irritates me. I tried updating the firmware via EVGA Precision X1 to no avail. Any one else have this issue?

Yes, mine has some mild coil whine. I can't hear it unless I put my head next to my case. My prior two cards had it worse. I believe they will RMA your card if it's REALLY bad.

Yeah my FTW3 Ultra has bad whine that I can hear across my home. If I undervolt the card, it reduces the whine in most games to an acceptable level, and I can really only hear it if I'm listening for it and/or stick my head by the case. This reduces performance quite a bit from stock, so I currently have an RMA in process.

I mean, it's not terrible but it's a constant buzzing in my ear I hear. Quiet but still irritating the same.

Might try this under volting thing. Is there a resource I can look up instructions to do this?

I have some coil whine too, but only at very high loads and then the fans are loud anyway.
I try to enjoy it, thinking millions of tiny workers are just getting loud and complain at some point, but I hear their tiny screams and it's enjoyable. I would never send away a beautiful working card because of some small noise like this. And in games there are too many distractions to notice any noise anyway.

Mine doesn't whine at all no matter what I do to it.  I wonder if it's because EVGA made sure I couldn't buy any 3080 or 3090 from their website to begin with.  Yeah, that's probably why.

Not sure if the forums will let the link go through, but if you search for “Undervolting the EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra”, I followed the YouTube vid by Lucktronics

If it's loud and constant enough that you can hear it and it bothers you, then EVGA may still RMA it for you. I'm not sure what level of whine they consider to be a defect, but it seems some users are getting theirs RMAd because of it. However, coil whine is kind of on a card-to-card basis, so the new unit you receive could also have it.

Apparently with these cards and power levels, the computer power supply is another factor in the coil whine.

What power supply are you running and with what kind of cabling?

    Hi everyone
I too have this issue the buzzing and the whining noise is really loud to a point where you get annoyed and irritating. I have run px1 since got the card and drivers are up to date too.

    Hi
I too have this issue the buzzing from the 3080 FTW3 Ultra under heavy load, I have a new Corsair HX1000 PSU and all 3 PCIe cables connected, haven't tried an undervolt or checking latest bios for the card. Running Precision X1 v1.1.0.9 with latest Nvidia graphics

    EDIT:
Just updated to latest Precision X1 and the card did an update, fans went 100% for a short while during update, the buzz is still there but not as prominent and after the card "warms up" to around ~60°C the buzz is almost gone.

I have updated to same Px1 version still the same coil whine and buzzing noise, and I had  returned the card to the retailer.
