Hello
Quick specs:
Computer Type:
       Desktop, custom built (2013)
GPU:
GK104, Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 Ti, no overclock
CPU:
       Intel Core i5 3570k CPU@ 3.4GHz, no overclock
Motherboard:
       Asus P8Z77-V LK
RAM:
       Ripjaws DDR3-1066MHz CL7-7-7 1.50V4GB (2x4GB)
PSU:
       EVGA NEX 650G (P/N 120-PG-0650)
Operating System & Version:
       Win 10 64-bit OS, x64-based processor
GPU Drivers:
     446.14-desktop-win10-64bit-international-, clean install
Description of Problem: I was playing league of legends when i noticed the screen was starting to tear, game froze, and then the screen turned black. I hard restarted the computer only for the windows 10 boot to freeze (the wheel stopped spinning for ~5 minutes) so I restarted again and booted in safemode.Computer has since had the "error code 42" Windows detected an issue with GPU and disabled it. Or "code 22" when i disabled GPU trying to flash the BIOS. Troubleshooting:Tried a clean install in safe mode of previous 660Ti drivers "445.87-desktop-win10-64bit-international-dch-whql" --> no change, automatically goes to black screenTried clean install of original 660Ti driver which was being used at the time "446.14-desktop-win10-64bit-international-dch-whql" --> no change, automatically goes to black screenTried to flash the BIOS by installing nvFlash and found the correct BIOS via GPU-Z and backed up my previous BIOS. But I haven't been able to get the cmd prompt to run the "--protectoff" since cmd isn't running NVflash correctly (checked the pathway is running and NVflash is functioning). I dragged the BIOS rom (EVGA.GTX660Ti.2048.120801.rom) but the error message is in the attached picture below.Other note: External Fans are running abnormally fast which is an issue i'm not familiar with. Monitor is stuck only detecting internal intel graphics.  Screenshot with: GPU-ZSystemDevice manager

If you're sure you got the correct vbios then you need to run the -6 cmd in nvflash to get around the error you're getting. Black screen, and gpu fans to 100% points to a faulty card, or a lack of power issue. I would highly recommend testing the card in another known good working pc to verify that the card is ok.

You can force your motherboard to only use pci-e graphics by changing the Primary Display option inside your motherboard bios from AUTO to PCIE. See page 3-20 of your motherboard online manual for more details... https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1155/P8Z77-V_LK/E8534_P8Z77-V_LK.pdf

You can use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) in Windows Safe Mode to uninstall the NVIDIA Graphics Driver and all optional driver components before trying to install/reinstall a graphics driver.

The card probably croaked though..Try it in another PC or take it to a PC repair shop for testing..Try another card in your PC if you have one/can borrow one.

The good thing is that an i5-3570K has integrated graphics so that you use that for the time being.

Thank you for the responses :
@Sajin: The problem i'm having with nvflash is because the "-6" cmd isn't something I can type in NVflash. Any typing in NVflash seems to automatically run a selected prompt. I have no experience with flashing or overclocking. Does EVGA call support help with flashing a BIOS for diagnostic purposes?
My cmd prompt doesn't seem to acknowleddge NVflash despite typing in the correct file pathway as well. Checking cmd "/cd" for the program does reveal it in my C drive.

As for getting the current error message: I dragged the BIOS .ROM file to nvflash which automatically runs the .ROM.

Sad to say, this is the only custom build I have in the house. All the others are Dell pre-builds from the 2000's.

@Bob: Taking my card to a PC repair shop during "Covid" might be a little difficult.

I attached an image of the Nvidia Graphics Driver indicating the Graphics and Audio drivers are not installed. This might a good time as any to ask, with my specs where can I find a list of compatable graphics card if this GPU really has died? I'v never done any upgrades to this build since I put it together back in 2013 with (a lot of) help from EVGA Blizzie.

A 660 Ti might work in your Dell pre-builds for testing it, only one way to find out..But any video card to date should work in a P8Z77-V LK which has a UEFI BIOS..There is no 'list' per se about which cards will work.

You need to run the cmd prompt as admin, and that should fix it for you. You need to type nvflash64 too, and not just nvflash.
