Nightdive Studios, who are developing a remake of Looking Glass Technologies' famous System Shock, have just released an 87-minute gameplay showcase for the remade version of the game. In it, you'll get to take a look into the combat system, inventory, art and graphics design for the game (whether or not it stays true to your memory of the original is up to you, though).

The game has gone through a sort of development hell, when after garnering more than $1.4 billion in crowdfunding, it was announced that the game was being put on hold. That decision was motivated by the developers' arguably overzealous take on the System Shock game, which had them continually build into the core ideas of the game - essentially rendering it as more of a heavily-inspired spiritual successor than the remake they originally envisioned. Changing game development engines from unity to Unreal was also part of the reason for the games' development delay. The game is expected to launch this year, though no specifics on exactly when have been made available.

87 minutes is a bit long in my opinion but maybe it was made to attract the gamers attention and show off every aspect of the game.

Yeah the STEAM demo they had briefly was a great indicator of it's potential, but was flawed.

I am really liking the looks of it and hope it becomes spectacular....

Apparently the writer of that article has quite a bit messed up/ wrong -

They have already corrected the dollar values to read as only 1.4 Million ...  &  the pictures are also reportedly from a totally different game -

OtherSide Entertainment, founded by Paul Neurath of Looking Glass Studios (System Shock and System Shock 2’s original developer), announced System Shock 3 at the end of 2015. The game doesn’t yet have a launch date, nor is it related to the reboot of the original System Shock, which Nightdive Studios plans to release in late 2019 or early 2020.

But hey,  I am excited for either game at this point !

It's a nice demo that shows the have done a lot for the game. Hopefully we see a release since it doesn't look bad.

    87 Minute Gameplay Video ...

OK, I skip through 4 or 5 segments in 30 seconds ... they could cut it down to less than 3 min easy
